Manual calls for 1/8" gap, should work at that or SLIGHTLY less - depending on how "robust" the spark transformer is, getting it TOO much less may shorten the life of the transformer (on the control board) ... Steve

The ground electrode is attached to the mounting plate, which typically isn't very thick - so when re-installing, be careful NOT to cause the plate to flex or it'll CHANGE your gap setting. Good luck...

Had I known when I started this thread, I would have added the word 'Saga' to the title.

I monkeyed with the flame rod as suggested in the previously posted YouTube video on Reznor ignition problems. Bent the rod towards me 1/8in off from vertical and 1/8in away from me. Made no difference... pretty much what I expected but it was worth the try. Convinced now the issue is not with the ignition but the flame sensor or the circuit board.

But I am now thinking of removing the orifice installed as part of the NatGas to LP conversion and check it for burrs or small obstruction. The one time I did get it running you will recall I got a blinking Yellow LED indicating weak flame. Back in a few...
