Ok...a few other questions. What is the btu rating on the heaters. Who supplied the propane regulators. Are you sure the regulators are rated to setvice the btu rating of the heater. What sized pipe did you run. My understanding is never use less than 3/4” after regulator until reduction right before heating unit. Pipe acts as storage and surcharge for startup.

I had a generator years ago that was driving me bonkers trying to get it to work properly. Turned out the regulator was bbq rated at about 46,000 btu and the generator took 235,000 btu. I didn’t supply either unit, and homeowner kept saying..... it’s worked for years. Not sure why it ever worked.

I’m also used to seeing a higher pressure regulator at the tank then a lower pressure regulator on the furnace. That’s the way mine is set up. But my shop heater is a 125,000 btu monster. Not sure if that applies to smaller units.

I’m beginning to think that the long pipe run isn’t supplying enough fuel at low pressure to run unit. I even looked at my stove. It has a pressure regulator at stove in addition to the one at house. It’s my understanding this is how it’s supposed to be so the pressure can be increased in pipe, but not the device.

Sooo, we done for the night or did you decide 9mm test gear wuz more fun? :D ... Steve
You mean the new vent holes I added? Maybe it's not getting enough air.

At this point everything seems dialed in so it sure seems it is either a defective sensor or board.

Per spec the half inch pipe should be good. My readings are good. BUT! maybe there is a surge and 1/2in can't keep up just momentarily and I am not seeing it during my measurements? Seems far fetched but I am not opposed to running 3/4in pipe but crap, is it that sensitive? I could sneak off the reservation and get new pipe and fittings from HD. Should be able to return most of the 1/2in stuff I suppose. What a hassle. Not quite that desperate yet.

i skimmed back thru discussion, but didnt see any posting whether or not a manometer was installed next to the heater itself and readings taken while attempting to start heater. if so what were the readings. it should not drop more than 1 inch on the scale during operation as i recall.

edit, i found a post where you say pressure dropped to 9.5 during ignition. thats too low. when my generators fire up, pressure never drops more than 1 inch on the meter for a second then goes back up. when i see a sever drop, the units generally do not fire up.

I think he did use one.... I think he was going to add some 9mm vent holes.........:D

I have checked the tank pressure both at the tank regulator and at the heater inlet. Set at 13 now. The manifold pressure is 10. I get a 1in drop at the tank on fire up. Since I can't get it to stay lit, I don't have readings during run state.

Ha ha... thanks, yeah went smoothly until the fire up. Thinking I possibly have a DOA unit. The troubleshooting has been frustrating. Bukitcase is trying to fry me... I only want to be warm!

I have two appointments for a repair next Tues and Thurs. Want $165 and $129 for diagnostics only. I assume if it just needs to be dialed in that would be included but ??? Hoping to get it running in the meantime. Checking what my warranty options are now.

Mark, google Reznor UADP 45 ignition fix. They show bending the igniter seems to fix ignition problems.
