Checking the gas pressure is not that hard. The new electronic gauges make it a lot easier, especially in tight spots. Adjustment will be needed as you had to do the conversion from Nat to LP. Otherwise 90 out of 100 times the factory setting is OK for us close to sea level.

Thanks yeah I think I have this figured out. Just have to get my hands on a manometer. The digital ones on line are not cheap and this might be the first and only time I will ever use it.

I learned what a manometer was today. Interesting. Not at all what I thought it would be though.

Good deal Terry; you just accomplished my definition of a GOOD day (any day you learn something with no, or at least minimal, loss of body parts) :D

Mark, if you think $35 is STILL too much, you could just get some Tygon tubing and build a simpler, less tool intensive version of this

Homemade Manometer (Vacuum Gauge) - Testing the Suction of a Dust Collector - YouTube

You're only dealing with a pressure of around 11" WC (for propane), so 3-4 feet of tubing for the actual manometer would be all you need. You could simplify the vid, the only requirement is a way to keep the "U" tube vertical. Something like making holes for tie wraps in a 6" wide, 2' long board. Watch the vid, get some tubing (and some red or green food coloring so you can actually SEE the liquid's DIFFERENTIAL level), and "bob's yer uncle"... Steve

Come over to my place and borrow mine. It is one of the low cost Amazon ones, has a good rating. I have not used it yet.

You need a sediment trap on that installation on the gas line. Our propane companies set the pressures when hooking up my generators, but I have my own monometer. Cheap insurance.

Mark it was so cool this morning I actually put the heat on in my shop for the first half hour just to take the chill out.

You are on the right track

Having a heated shop is right near the top of life. Of course you really don't have Winter per'se. When it's -25 here I enjoy heading out to the shop !! Yours is coming together.

I know... I am getting soft in my old age. As retirement is coming and the potential for this space to become a more used 'doghouse' :D I see the need for heat so I can spend quality time in the shop and create stuff like Big Barn... in a comfy space.
