My engine hoist. I mated the engine to the tranny today. Next, I plan to design supports for the original engine mounts, which I thought I'd reuse.

Well, I got started welding up the tub frame today. Hopefully I'll get the wheels on it soon so I can move it around. Still need to do more work on the engine mounting brackets that support the rubber doughnuts...

Totally off topic but I lived in Binghamton and had a Deere 265 mower when I was a kid so I'll be watching this thread... this is going to be good.

Since its been raining more or less steady over the last few days, I have not been able to weld out the tub frame. I finished the support frame for the radiator and fan assembly instead:

I've been working on the tub frame lately. I guess it's 80% done. I still need to add some bracing and reinforcement members to stiffen it up - it twists too much as is. The opening in the front is for a maintenance hatch to easily gain access to the steering brake calipers, pads and drive axles.

You may have to add some removable braces. Awesome build. Keep the photos coming.

Not that much to report this week - I added some cab support/side frame stiffeners to the tub and finished the cover plate for the front steering brake hatchway. Here's the front diff and brakes mounted in place. You could easily pull the calipers out thru the opening for maintenance:

Nice! What's that differential with the brakes on it out of?
