Wednesday I was hopping to complete the roof but didn't get it done I'm out of the long 36 foot long sheets so am having to use shorter ones but I mangaged to get all the way except for the last 15 feet covered with the exception of 3 pieces around 10 to 15 feet long It had been threatening to rain all day the winds were out of the west but light then just as I was placing the last sheet I had up on the roof in place a 20 MPH gust out of the North blasted me Fortunately I already had a few screws in it on both ends So I called it quits for the day then today the wind blew all day long maybe tomorrow will be better

Is a brick crane something that picked up bundles of bricks off of the trailer and then sets them on the ground? Kind of like a hydraulic crane?

If so, does that mean there will be a boom attached to what is in the picture and will it work like a crane in picking stuff up and rotating to where you want it?

Does it telescope or just the length of the boom?

I'm curious to see how you power it and operate it!!!!

Been following this thread and thought I over built stuff. I'm assuming here but where you are in Texas do you get many tornados or hurricane force winds? I feel like this structure could be an above ground storm shelter. This is a very impressive build my hat is off to you, this is way more work than I would try to conquer by myself.

Yes the brick crane has a 28 foot long boom which can lift a 5000 lb. bundle of bricks at the tip end and 10,000 lbs about half way out from the base with the boom in the horizontal position there is a hydraulic cylinder inside of the boom that moves the hoist trolley from end to end of the boom and a 6" diameter cylinder mounted on top of the boom with 1 to 4 ratio the 6ft long cylinder serves as the hoist for raising the load from the hook the boom can be elevated to 75°. Obviously where I am mounting it it will not be able to rotate as far as it could when mounted on a trailer but I will be able to swing it about 270° allowing me to move heavy items from outside to inside of the building almost to the inside to where the South wall would have been had I not decided to add more onto the building.
I will power it with this until I make a larger power unit.

I made this power unit to power my plate roll that I made

The plate roll also worked well as a wire rack for pulling some of my electrical circuits

Frank isn't over building the building. The foundations and columns he's showing us are to support the things he plans to do inside the building.

Well the winds and other projects finally cooperated long enough to allow me to complete the roof now it is time to either start building the 33 ft lean to addition or to start working on the North wall

On one hand I want to build the extension as soon as possible to have the additional 2000 sq ft. of roof area then do the wall after that for a while I can remove the gin pole rig and the fork carriage and install the loader bucket to move a couple hundred cubic yards of select fill and clay base that I have excavated and stock piled But on the other hand it is getting real close to garden planting time and I need to finish the wall so I won't have to be driving my back hoe through the area where the garden will be

Nice work, Frank. I used to think I was adept at planning and executing difficult tasks on my own but you totally blow me away!
