The tractor will need an engine certification label like this found on my Kubota M5. M5 is built in Japan. My M7 has a different style certification as the engine was built in Japan, installed in a tractor built in France, and imported into North America. It only states EU certified. I’ve been retired for several years and there may have been updates, but for we manufacturers, controls were rigid. We used that to restrict customers purchasing identical machines in a low transaction price country and moving it to a high transaction price country. Yes, a factory in a country may build identical units in one country for sale worldwide, and then limit where an individual unit is sold by emissions certification label.

So really all you need to do is find someone who is willing and capable of making a label.

I keep wondering why anyone would import a JD from India to the US when there are so many domestic dealers here.

Probably because the price is so much cheaper.

I priced a Farm King bale wrapper that is built in Poland and imported to North America . Buhler imports with the Farm King sticker on it and even keeps the same model number.

Local price quoted several years ago was $6500. I found the same wrapper for sale online in Poland for $2500. Not sure what the per unit freight on a container load of them would be.

Not cheap I'm sure. IM containerized freight has went through the roof. No deals today.

To the OP NEVER ask a question to any governmental agency that you don't already know the answer to, especially any US Environmental agency, if you want that tractor over here you better get you one of them compliance stickers that others are talking about. Good luck.

Freight for 20ft from China was $2,000. It was basically for a container that size, according to who I dealt with. You could fill it with pillows or in my case a 3.5ton excavator with a couple extra buckets.(y)

6-8 week wait +$$ for a 20ft HC from China. I opted to have them ship my excavator with the cab off so it would fit in a standard height 20ft.

Even if you are EPA compliant, have you OWNED the tractor for long enough, OR put enough hours on to qualify as USED? There can be a BIG difference in import duty and other taxes. (The aim is to discourage grey/parrrallel commercial imports while allowing private imports).

I can order a $20 item on Amazon with free shipping that ships from China and gets to my door in a couple weeks. If I wanted to send the same $20 item 60 miles away it would cost me $25!

I'm posting here in regards to a tractor that I want to bring stateside. I own a John Deere 5075E in India, I want to bring one over to the United States. The one I own does not have a AC cab, the one I'm going to buy will have a AC cabin. They are the same model but one just has a cab. They also have the same engine, the engine name is PY3029U, I've attached the sticker of mine here.

I need help determining if this engine is EPA compliant and if I can bring this over to the United States. Also if anyone has any tips or tricks with importing or any contacts they could recommend to me, I'm very new to the importing space.

The model I'm planning on buying is the John Deere 5075E AC CABIN TREM IV. (Trem IV is an Indian emissions standard, as far as I'm aware)

Thanks for all the help in advance.
Won't the shipping cost be above 5,000usd? The savings just on shipping gives you that money to put towards a tractor already in country. I do not mean to criticize and this is just a thought.
