I have a CS-370 and a CS271T and soon be buying a CS450p with 18" bar. Echo makes a real good saw that starts easy.

Check out the 500. I ordered a 450 and had the shipment recalled and ordered a 500. It shows to be lighter weight and have 5 more cc.

It's a true pro saw and should cut quite a bit faster than a ms250, you might want to pull the tube out of the muff and open up the deflector some as the muff is rather clogged up. Also give it about 10 tanks to break in. Tuned right the MS250 cuts good. Steve

I just bought a cs500p to replace my ms250.

I had a 16" bar with Oregon LPX chain and a gutted muffler on the ms250. The cs500p has a 18" bar.

Do you folks that have cs500p experience think that it will have more power and feel like an upgrade from the ms250?

Its about the same weight with 5 more cc. I also know its a rebadged shindaiwa from their merger. The ms250 was a homeowner saw and I guess the cs500p is semi-professional.

No question the 500 is a better saw. The power/weight ratio ought to be much better than the 250, and it will have better vibration isolation as well. And if you were used to dealing with oddball starting shenanigans on the Stihl, the Echo will be a big improvement.

You should do that right away as many come set too lean although mine was tuned dead on , pulled the caps just to make sure. Steve

I just bought one today, and man that cs500 really spins. I cut about 1/2 cord in about 1/2 an hour. I was really impressed after running a husky. I hated the husky 435. They said that they have lots of carb problems with that model. I could not get it to start or run well and after pulling it for about 50 tries, it went back to the dealer. My dealer would not budge off of retail. They sell them all day long at retail so there is no incentive for them to discount the echo. I will push the echo hard and within 6 months will know for a fact whether this is a good saw.

I got mine yesterday and looked at it, but have been too busy to start it up or try it. Looks to be made good.
