All my fuel cans (1-5 gal) are old school BLITZ cans. They work great, and no spills. No longer manufactured, but can be found at auctions and garage sales.

I thought I bought all those old Blitz and stashed them but I see you beat me to a few.:giggle:
Home Depot had cans like the yellow one above except they were blue for kerosene but diesel can't tell the difference.

I bought a bunch of the vent caps off of Amazon. Drill a hole behind handle and epoxy in vent. Works great.

Every time I try to use a no-spill can it reminds me of the old cartoon of a camel, captioned "A horse designed by a committee".

Every one of those flexible metal Jerry can spouts that I have used leaks.
I inherited my fathers Korean War era can and spout… each and every spring I remember my dad lubricating the nozzle… waaay back when it was 3-in-1 oil… later years came the spray lubricants… I’m currently using Deep Creep… it’s amazing how much more flexible the nozzle is after application… spray the outside surface and let it soak in a few minutes, wipe off the excess with a rag and Bobs yer Uncle… 70 odd years later and no leak…

Could they possibly be making something more unsafe trying to make it safer? I got this fuel can a few weeks ago for chainsaw gas. Of course it dispenses fuel pretty slow which actually works ok for filling a chainsaw. There is mechanism you have manipulate that takes two hands to engage but I can live with it. What I couldn’t live with was the green ring in the picture which is a safety thing for holding the spout on. There are teeth on it that won’t let the spout spin off. There is a tiny thumb lever that is suppose disengage the teeth so you can take the spout off to fill the can, yeah right. I cut it off.

Go to ezpour.com and order one of their fill spouts. They come with two caps with different threads for different cans. If by chance neither fit your old cap will work with their spout. It also comes with a vent that you have to drill a hole for in the back of the can. They work great. It is against federal law to change these safety caps out but what they don't know won't hurt them. If ezpour wants to know what kind of can and how old it is make something up. These cans came about from people spilling gas all over everything on a hot engine and starting fires. Some people should not be let out of a rubber room for their own safety.

I cut those cap ratchet things off too.
Same, cut them off!

The only good fuel can that I’ve found, out of these newer designs, is No Spill brand. Just ask Jill! The rest of the new style cans have spouts that just don’t work for me.

As to speed, they’re almost on par with my late-1990’s old school spout cans having the always-too-tiny breather holes, but not as fast as 1970’s cans.

Once I got to 12 years old I never spilled a drop of gas until these gas cans came along. The result of a bureaucrat playing design engineer.

I have one just like the OP. Difficult to use and two hands necessary to make it pour so you have to balance the can on the tank. Another antisafety device.
