Good points on the use of OEM magazines with one caveat, Mec-Gar makes excellent magazines and I am pretty sure they have made OEM for both Beretta and Sig. It is the only aftermarket magazine for those guns that I trust.

Mag-pul makes great magazines too. Better then the Mil-Spec mags for AR-15 type rifles. I don't know if they make magazines for handguns though...
I brought up the factory magazine comment because Beretta magazines aren't cheap ($30-$40, IIRC). There's a lot of tempation to go the Cheaper Then Dirt route.

Yeah Magpul makes some great magazines as well as followers, put them in all my magazines. I have also had really good results from those made by Brownells.

I know what you mean, I got some of those cheap magazines during the "Clinton Assault Weapons Ban" and they are all in a box that needs to go on our next recycling run.

I used Bianchi and Galco for years, but now use Blade-Tech and Blackhawk as they fit perfectly from day one and don't stretch out with prolonged use. I was late to the party and had to be convinced before switching; use to hate "plastic guns" too.

Not all holsters are the same and I stay away from the thin, cheap models. We had to literally force our department to let us get away from leather and now the kydex are what most are using.

YMMV as always.

+1 on the Mec-Gar Mags, I have several for a Sig and they work great they are plus 2 design, so 17 rds for Sig 226 and I paid $15 each for them.. I wish I had bought a bunch more. I used them several years in IPSC shooting, so they got their share of abuse (dropped stomped mud sand dirt etc) they held up very well and never a malfunction.

I've got an early model 92, still made in Italy. great combat pistol, one of the first 15+ round pistols I believe. Definitely a keeper, I would never sell mine.

I don't carry it cause it's a little big, but I would if it was all I had.
Mines glossy black, would rather have the parkerized finish to make it more M9 like.

I've got the mil type flap holster,, some call it the suicide holster for it's hook latch system. it's got a cleaning rod and lanyard built in.

Sorry just cell phone pics.

Nice weapon, is clark brothers that shop off route 17 at the crossraods/intersection? I kind of remeber a white gunshop with red lettering perhaps...from 1986. I recall it had a range and lots of goodies....that was many moons ago as I lived near haymarket then...

That's it. They have two buildings and one is called the red barn. Very helpful

Excellent choice! I am an confirmed Beretta bigot myself. Form and function is way better than a flat plastic brick as some guns look to me.

Here is a great website for Beretta info. If you are looking for magazines, etc this is the best place to get them.
I have bought several items, 2 guns including the Cougar off this site with no issues.

Do yourself a favor and get a .22 conversion kit for it.

Welcome to the Beretta Forum

I think my Inox Cougar is one of the prettiest and fun to shoot guns ever made.

Congrats on the new gun. I had a smith and wesson M&P 40c until it fell in the lake, ;) Keep your eyes open for deals on magazines and stock up as you find good deals, I have around ten. Figure they aren't going to get any cheaper with the costs of materials going the way they are. Check out this holster

Phantom Modular Holster

I know you can find cheaper, but this is the best I have found so far. I am currently wearing outside the waistband, but I have the loops so I can use the same holster for inside the waistband. Customer service is great. Crossbreed also makes a very nice holster. If you are looking for a custom leather holster check out Luke at adamsholsters. Adams Holsters

Have fun!

You are going to love it even better after it has 1000 rounds through it. Of all the autoloaders I have ever shot, I liked the 92 the best, and the smoothest shooting was the cop's duty gun that had spent a lot of time at the range.

Mil spec on the Beretta is 50,000 rounds without a misfire without cleaning . If you take good care of yours, you can shoot it without worrying about wearing it out, and you should shoot it a lot. Shoot it enough that reloading is the obvious financial decision.

What you need is a Magazine Speed Loader. Check out the UpLULA Speed Loader

I have two speed loaders for each of my .38 revolvers; the 6 shot and the 5 shot. But I'd never even heard of a speed loader for a semi-auto magazine until I saw your post here.

This morning, I went to Bass Pro for a little practice on their indoor range; 50 rounds of .38 and 50 rounds of 9mm and I bought one of the UpLULA Speed Loaders; $34.99 plus $2.88 sales tax. It strikes me as a pretty neat little toy, not worth what it costs unless your thumbs are too weak for loading magazines. But since I have it, I'll use it.;)

I really like the Uplula. On some guns loading by hand is not an issue, but Glocks and Springfield as well as one other maybe HK, the last two or three rounds are a bear.

Our male Officers didn't have as much trouble as the females, but on a really cold, long day on the range, mine got a workout from a lot of people.

My fingers are getting weaker and I shoot less, so it helps me quite a bit.
