New JD subcompact

It was the JD 4010. They had several other there as well with various attachments. That picture was for some one special!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
Another fine machine that no doubt in the hands of a novice like myself could do some serious damage!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

The 4100 was not recommended for backhoe use by JD, this may also be the case for the smaller units of the new "10 "series, however, I see nothing about any of these tractors that would make using a well designed backhoe appropriate to the tractor, including the 4100 unwise. Look pretty strong to me. Something about the aluminum transaxles but this is not any different from other makers smaller machines so cannot see that this is a big deal. Besides, Yanamar makes a good tractor don't they? J

Tres the Aftermarlet Backhoes for the 4100 is put on by thousands of JD Dealers without problem. JD has not informed anyone why they did not recommend any backhoe on their units. However as far as I know, they do not void your warranty if you use one like Kelley, Great Bend (http://www.greatbendmfg.com/), Bradco (http://www.bradco.com/), but if you use a homemade, and break your tractor, they probably will.

Like I said, I see no reasoon a small backhoe could not be used with the 4100. There are several differences between the rear end of my 2410 and the 4100 but I cannot see that one is better than the other, just different. I added the backhoe kit to my 2410, it consists of a heavier duty top link bracket, longer bolts and a few other bits. I wish I had a backhoe but I just spent 25,000 dollars on a new engine for my airplane project so once again I am rather poor. The only real reason I need a tractor is to build me a runway and then keep it mowed and the Kubota is much better for that--why you ask--I can see my bright orange Kubota from the air much better than some silly green thing so that while my wife is mowing the runway while I flit about I will not land on her by accident. Why would anyone paint a tractor green anyway?
The pictured tractor with the backhoe is a 4110 I think, certainly not the 2210, how do I know, the 2210 has the black plastic floorboards like the 4010, the 4110, does not. I would expect for JD to have or develop a backhoe version sooner or latter of the 2210--why not? J

The reason is that nobody requesting for service under warranty will admit to have been using a backhoe or any other attachment that JD has specifically stated as not recommended.

If one was to purchase the backhoe pictured here. What might they expect to pay? Is this a 3 pt mount or did it mount to the frame??

Thanks

Seth.....
Be careful what you say about John Deere tractors or the John Deere Gestapo will get you..../w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Tres, well the reason you want to paint the tractor green is that it is easier to camo in case of terroist atttack or you want to attack the terrorist by using your tractor!

Hmm Kubota better for runway plowing, well the color is easier to identify from the air, yes, but when you are flying drunk like some of those airline pilots, you would not be able to see it anyway /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Being vertical on the learning curve, I have no idea
what the costs would be. I would not even guess. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif
(Being a novice I lack the terminology) but that
hoe was attached to the 3ph but also had a "subframe"
going under the tractor, attaching to the frame of the tractor.
Also I think that Trescrow is correct in that unit was 4100, **something./w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif

There was a lot of green and blue and orange and red and yellow and purple and
even a few grays mixed it at that fair. Felt like a kid with a pocket
full of pennies in the candy store!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

NEW JD2210 PIC's

As indicated I went to the Deerfield fair this past Saturday. My local JD dealer which I bought my JD4110 was there. They had a 2210 that was sent to them for the fair from JD. They are indicating that this will be avaiable for this december. They did not have any info on this unit at the fair and the machine was on a trailer in which NO ONE could climb on it. The detachable loader was sitting in from of the 2210 and was much smaller then the 410 loader the comes with the 4100,4110,4115 units.

In talking with the dealer , actually it was the salesman that sold me my machine , that this 2210 is targeted towards Kubota's BX series.

Sorry there are only 2 pics , however with the unit being the trailer it was hard to get quality shots.

Enjoy

Mark

Attached are some PIC's
