New LS Sub-Compact

Hi,

I was set on getting the new bx 23s. Lot of nice features, but now I am thinking I need to at least look at one. How much stronger is the bh on the ls?

Edit,
Specs seem to give the ls a couple hundred more pounds of digging force. The bx platform is a known.

Drove the MT125 today, and I was most impressed with it's robustness. I still think it's a great value, if you're in an area where other dealers aren't discounting. I very likely would've gotten it, but...

I found a Kubota dealer who made me a crazy offer, so I took it. Got a BX2380 w/FEL. Really happy, can't wait to get it.

But back to the MT125....as I mentioned, I think it's a really solid unit. It did not feel as "polished" as the KB to me.. I found some little nit picky things I didn't like, and the oil drain situation LSOwner found is just unacceptable. On a plus note, this dealer told me LS was aware of the situation, and is working out a fix that they will apply under warranty to sold units. I hope that's true, because that should have never passed design phase.

Anyway, just wanted to update my related posts, on my current status. No longer shopping! Yay!

Just sat on the mt125 today and it fits my 6'3 frame way better than the xj2025. My knees were touching steering wheel on xj. I wanted to sit on the 3025 but dealer did not have one in stock. The backhoe hydraulic cylinders are huge on 125. They were bigger than the cylinders on my L2850 Kubota backhoe. I was very impresssed. Only drove it Round. Did not get to use the backhoe but definitely on my radar

I am still impressed w/ the capabilities of this small tractor. I have installed a 750 sq ft septic system (including digging a BIG hole for a 1000 gal tank), moved 38 tons of rock (for said septic), back filled and graded the field over the septic, leveled the area for both the site of our new house I'm going to build and a 3 bay garage. I also was looking at the 2025, but could'nt see it being worth $3000 more. I shopped 4 other brands, but found the LS 125 to have the best bang for the buck.

LS mt125 owner, your pictures of the new house lot, trenches, etc. are pretty amazing. Been looking at the XJ's but now the MT is on my list as well for a test drive. I'm positive I'd buy an LS MT over a Kubota BX25. I'm curious, did your dealer have an SSQA option for the FEL? That's one thing that I really like about the XJ.

My dealer did not have that option, and I have not seen any pictures of one in a dealer lot equipped with SSQA. LS told the dealer it would be an option later this year. I sent LS a question through their website, but they did not respond.

If I read that right, the specs out of the ls manual say that the backhoe on the MT 125 with 2194 pounds has more bucket digging force than the backhoe on the xj2025. LS's website lists bucket force for the XJ at 2096 pounds. I'm kind of blown away by that.

Interesting that the bucket digging force in the manual is about 100 lbs. more than the brochure. I think that is the second most backhoe force in a SCUT after the GC1720.

My BIL just bought the LS XJ2025 about 1 week ago and it does have the ssqa. The LS MT125 will not have it because the bucket isn't wide enough to fit the ssqa.

That makes sense to me about the bucket width. I bet if these tractors get even more popular they'll make some new quick attach standard just for SCUTs.

The Kubota bx80 series offers SSQA and has a 48“ bucket. The MT125 has a 50“ bucket. The manufacturer has shown pictures and video with a version with SSQA. Why are you so sure it can't?

When I asked the dealer about a SSQA option, they were not available as of early April when my tractor was assembled. They are supposed to come out later this year. The dealer did say that a xj2025 would fit. Not sure if this was true as I did not pursue getting one. I went to the local kubota dealer last week to pick up some hydro fluid, saw a new BX25. Still very glad I got the MT125.

I will be buying the LS MT125 TLB with MMM in the next two weeks. I contacted customer service about the quick attach loader mount and I was told it will be dropped all together. The representative told me, it was deemed the tractor would loose to much lift capacity by moving the load forward just a few inches, plus the extra weight of the adapter. Kubota has this same problem with the new BX. The BX can only lift 423 lbs to full lift with the quick attach loader.

Glad to hear some response, thanks for the information. I do wish they would not publish two different numbers for the FEL lift capacity.

I just found out the same information today! You got the more comprehensive answer though.

That makes sense. My XJ2025 came standard with SSQA and I like it but have sometimes felt that while operating lifting power might be somewhat compromised. Can't beat the SSQA when changing from loader bucket to grapple though!
