new Mahindra 5155 issue

hey fellas,

a few weeks ago I bought a new 5155 and in 8 hours of running it, the tractor performed flawlessly with a Mahindra Bush Hog. I mean it has been a beast.

today I went to run and it started the PTO just fine and I was mowing about 5 minutes and noticed it wasn't really mowing anymore, the PTO was moving at idle type speed and the Bush Hog was pretty much nonfunctioning. I stopped it, shut it down and restarted the PTO system from idle throttle and it started working again. It worked for about 10 minutes and it it did the same thing.

the plastic sheath on the Bush Hog PTO is now torn into 2 sections.

I disconnected the PTO linkage and ran it at Idle and at 2400 idle and there is little difference.

its under full warranty and the dealership has been notified.

any ideas what has happened? is there something I can try to get this working tomorrow?

just curious.
I'm not worried about the situation yet.

at the PTO?

the Bush Hog seems to be working fine.

the PTO power doesn't seem to ramp up. it seems to spin the same speed at idle and at 2400 when disconnected from the PTO arm of the Bush Hog.

I currently have a Mahindra 1538 Shuttle. It’s been flawless since new and has done everything reasonable that I’ve asked of it. But at times a bigger footprint and more weight would be a benefit for me on my hilly property and for maintaining my 900 foot gravel driveway. My dealer is working to...

PTO Sheath is in 2 pieces now.

Every sheath I’ve ever seen, over the past 47 years on tractors, has been in two pieces?

Does the PTO have 2 switches on the dash? Both should be on.
I have to tap the solenoid on the right side of transmission on the 3510 after it has been sitting for awhile to get the shaft engaged.
