I have exactly the same model (brand name Cargo Mate). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
A BX23 needs 15' because of the backhoe that's why I bought a 16'. About the gate I reinforced it too. I've added 8' steel ramps below the bed because the angle was too steep for the backhoe. And I've added support legs each side of the gate to reduce stress on the hitch when loading/unloading. It's a very nice trailer and it weights only 1200 pounds (25% less than steel... not as strong as steel though). I'll post a pic tomorrow.

About a lock for the trailer. You should buy something to satisfy the insurance companie because if a thief really want to steal it... he will even if you've bought the most expensive lock. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I bought mine last year and I always keep an eye on it especially when I go to a store (like Home Depot). I heard so many stories about theft in a store parking lot like that.

I have a 14' on order. I think I can put the BX23 on a 14' from what other have said. I'm not towing on a regular basis and the price jump to a 16' was a bit high.

Stef,

Mine is actually labeled Continental Cargo, but both are made by Forest River Inc. which is the manufacturer. I did have my car jacks under the rear when I first loaded it just to feel more comfortable, but it didn't squat as much as my old 10'. I guess the dual axle and length offset the weight much better.

A better lock is next on the list /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

For mine the 16' was $150 more than the 14' which in the end I decided was worth spending.
