new Trailer not wide enough

I'll bet he can move the fenders out 1/2 " without moving the wheel, huh?
Or just remove the fenders and haul the tractor....

Fenders are legally required and I wouldn’t want to be throwing stuff against the tractor without them even if you didn’t get a ticket. But I doubt they are so close to the tires that you couldn’t move them a little.

Hi Joe,

I struggled with the very dilemma you are dealing with now. I ended up buying the RX6620, which has smaller wheel size selection than the RX7320, though otherwise is basically the same machine (it's engine is derated 7HP and has only one hydraulic filter, where yours has two). This gave me the narrower wheel width to be able to load it onto a 84" wide tilt-bed trailer.

As for loading forwards or backwards, I've tried both, and I found that driving on forward gives me the best position and ability to adjust for tongue weight (by moving forward or back as necessary). I usually have a 1500# box blade on the back, so factor that in. With that arrangement my bucket is usually about 1' to 1-1/2' to the rear of the front trailer brace for correct balance. My rear implement setting completely on the 22' trailer deck. A rotary mower would hang on the back of the trail a bit.

I work on very hilly ground. I have my wheel width set at the middle or neutral position. I would probably move them to the widest position if I didn't have to fit this trailer.

Good luck finding a satisfactory solution.

David

FYI, from the owners manual, page 4-67 (Printed Oct 2021, provided with my 2023 RX6620), here is the rear wheel adjustment chart. It may be of limited use due to only showing the center-line distances for the wheel itself, not including actual tire sidewall dimensions. However, it could be used to calculate variations in total wheel width, based on the various published configuration widths.

Again, good luck.

As KC mentioned, just go up. Put a couple of 2x10 or similar on the deck a little longer than the fenders. Then take one a couple of inches shorter and lay it on top of it. Keep them close as possible to the fenders, and have the stack higher than the fender. If most of the tire is on the 2x10's then it will just overhang the fender without touching it. No need to move the fenders, no reason to loose money on a trade in.

I had the same problem with being 82+ inches between the fenders so I built a ramp that goes over the fenders with treated lumber. I can remove it when I don't need the width using a set of forks. the tractor sits a little higher when on top of the fenders but not much higher than a deck-over.

^^ This ^^
I have bunks to keep saw logs off the tops of my trailer fenders. Same principle on a 90 degree rotation.

Generally everyone likes to keep the rear tires or the tractor pretty wide. But could you adjust the width of the rear tires of rhe tractor to a narrower spacing?
That was going to be my suggestion.
Did the tractor dealer quote you a width at it's narrowest setting?
