New warranty BX seat!

Today I got my new seat - mounted it - it's awesome - and I bush hogged my whole 20 acres with the BX - and plowed up another 2...
Then I was asked to do something in the meeting - and the fact I had fallen asleep became public knowledge...
Ohh well - maybe someday I'll get a seat - and go to a meeting that's worth my time... my fear is - the odds are about even on the two...

I got mine a few weeks ago and replaced it last week. Its biggest advantage to me is that the seat belt does not now tighten up so much when going downhill. That makes it more comfortable and easier to turn around to look behind without having to stop to unfasten & adjust the belt.

I bought the BX a month too early to qualify for the upgrade but appreciate the ready availabilty of the seat from Chappell. I find the $50 price with no trade in needed to be reasonable. Everyone I have dealt with there in the parts dept and the individual mechanics have been helpful and professional.

I disagree. You will get your seat LONG before you go to a meeting that's worth your time :) A basic law of the universe states: if more than two people are present at a meeting, at least one's time is being wasted. The following hangs outside my door at work (no lie):

Let's get this B/BX seat discussion back on track. I talked to my dealer about getting a replacement for my B3030 as soon as the PIB was issued by Kubota. He ordered several, but it took over 2 months for them to arrive from Whole Goods. I got mine last Thursday and mounted it on Saturday. The sticker on the bottom that I presume is the new seat part # is 6C200-4551-3. Here's the scoop with pictures:

It took about 30 minutes time including taking the pictures. Just tilt the seat forward, remove the 4 12mm bolts, move the arm rest from the old to the new (3 3mm allen screws each), mount the new seat to the frame and enjoy! Here's some old & new pics. for comparison. If you look closely you will notice that both the bottom and back are thicker/more padded and that condiderably more contouring is moulded in; the differences are more apparent in the side by side shots. This elevates the operator position somewhat, but the nice soft padding means that it's not as much as the pics might lead you to believe. I did a little work afterwards and the difference in comfort is quite noticeable. In addition the the obvious difference the thicker padding makes, I no longer feel like I'm sliding forward and having to brace myself against floorboard. Much more relaxed and less tiring operation! I can hardly wait to do a big mowing (6-8 hrs.) and see what the difference is. The last pic is the beauty shot just because I could.
