Just picked up my new Finish Mower yesterday and am very pleased with it's cutting ability! Time will tell how well it holds up in handling the tough Pensacola Bahia which has a way of taking it's toll on mower blades along with the sandy soil.

I've got the bigger brother in the PRD 7200. Very well built unit but heavy. I've found out that when I take the mower off the tractor I need to put the mower on a concrete pad in order to roll around easier upon the next hook-up. Good luck and keep us informed.

I have a new (2 weeks old) Frontier GM1072R, which is really a re-branded Woods RD7200-2. As mentioned, it is heavy and drags the rear end of the 2520 around a little. This unit gives a beautiful cut, even better than my lawn tractor.

Only issue I've noticed so far is that the belt guard tends to vibrate and makes quite a racket. I made sure the bolts are tight, but due to the design, it still vibrates. May need to try some kind of rubber washers under the bolts or something.

Two other things I've noticed: You have to make sure the bolts that hold the springs on top of the casters are very tight or they will work loose. Also, the gearbox does get really hot. Is that normal?

The dealer service guy who gave me the once over on the mower also said to make sure to check all the bolts to make sure they stay tight, as well as making sure the spring bolts stay tight.

A couple of questions for the other PRD owners.

1. Do you run with the front wheels offset.... other then keeping the wheels from running over the grass twice...does it make much difference?

2. My mower came with the front wheels set-back so they wouldn't hit the tractors rear tires. I went ahead and moved them to the forward position once I saw they weren't going to hit the rear wheels.... does is it make much difference in mowing where the front wheels are set.....forward or back?

Thanks!

My wheels aren't offset and I haven't noticed any problems with running it this way. This mower seems to have plenty of suction to stand the grass up for cutting. My front wheels are run in the forward position and don't contact the rear tires, however, I have an iMatch that gives a little more clearance.

I'm expecting my PRD8400 to arrive any day - what do you guys mean when you talk about offsetting the front wheels? Turning those brackets to the outside, so that they're wider than the mower frame?

On the PRD 6000/72000 mowers the front caster arms can be mounted on the inside or outside of the frame. On the 8400 mowers the front caster arms are fixed and cannot be changed.

I've had the PRD6000 for close to 6 yrs. now and had good service. Well the drive belt did break this weekend while mowing some very tall grass but that's not surprising since I do a lot of tall grass mowing and work it hard. I think it will handle your FL Bahia grass w/o any problems and expect you'll like it. It was delivered with the front caster wheels mounted on the outside but I moved them to the inside to give a little more clearance with the tractor tires and haven't noticed any difference with the cut.

It's a heavy well built mower that I expect will last a long time. I have noticed a little paint pealing on the upper side of the deck around belt covers; I don't think it's the best powder coated finish possible for a quality implement. The other thing you might watch out for is that the belt covers are attached to the deck with cage nuts through square holes in the deck for the bolts. The ears tend to rust off of the "cage" which means you may have to get a wrench under the deck to remove the belt covers when necessary. I'm going to see if I can get some new cage nuts today and replace them while replacing the belt.

I have the PRD7200. Only problem I am having is if you dont keep an eye on the bolts that go through the rim they fall out and destroy your rims and wheel. The wheel ***. cost around $77.00. Other then that I have not had any problems with mine.
