Here are a couple pictures of my temporary fix. I lapped the flat metal parts and brazed them......

I then attached the plastic handle but putting one screw through the bottom plastic hole and the top metal hole.

Mark, you brazed where I use my clamps. If your brazing holds, I think your fix will be just fine. I'd be surprised to see another break at the remaining screw hole.

BTW - TC35DFORME answered my last post and it has now suddenly disappeared. Did anyone else notice that? I wonder what's up? It's a mystery... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I moved some logs today and a couple pallets of firewood. So far, so good!

Pretty much all posts between the 1st and the 4th were deleted in the hard drive swap, according to Hakim and Muhammad.

Well someone is thinking ( or at least trying to ) at New Holland. I just received my new loader rod support. It appears to be a bit different than the original. The most obvious change is the riser piece that is drilled for the handle is now a piece of round tube cut lengthwise instead of being a piece of flat stock with a bit of bend to it. This allows for a lot more meat on either side of the screw hole and the added strength of the circular shape. The weld quality looks much better also. They must have a new supplier.

On the old one, there was about 0.25" of metal from the edge of the screw hole to the edge of the bent riser. The new one has at least twice that.

I think I will skip the extra welding work and try this one. If it goes, I'm out $ 27.00 for a new one, but I think this one is up to the task.

Funny - I just got back 5 minutes ago from picking up MY new joystick. I told the parts guy, "Wow! I'm going to take a picture of this and put in on the internet!"

BTW - part number is 86400437. Don't know if it is different or not from the old one.

That's how they should have been built all along. Maybe that was how they were designed and the vendor changed it trying to make them cheaper. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
