Thanks John, we do have Advanced Auto Parts, but I'll probably go to a guy a bit closer.

The old trans fluid came out "thick", as I would describe it. Not honey or syryp thick, but substantial. What it was filled with at the factory in Georgia? Anyone's guess. UDT or SUDT.

By contrast, the new SUDT-2 with synthetic technology poured in very, very thin. Remembering that product itself was likely 20 degrees, yet flowed almost like water. Personally, I think this is a great thing. It tells me the stuff is going to flow when cold. The difference in viscosity at pour was dramatic, for those who haven't used the "new" stuff yet.

Just make sure that the antifreeze is ELC (Extended Life Coolant)
Most all diesels require the ELC type of coolant.

Well, the fella came by just now and loaded up the B2320. Nice tractor and I know he'll be very happy. I drove it up on his trailer for him and did the tie down. So, that chapter closes.

Pulled the BX around to the winter tractor spot in my wife's garage. Yes, she certainly does consider it "her" garage. LOL

The whole swap ended up being a $3K deal to the plus side, so very pleased. Now, to keep scouring Craigslist for a BX2763A front snow/dirt plow assembly. ;)

Nice tractor!! I know someone else who buys a tractor in the dead of winter..... :)

You are doing all the right things for the new machine and you will be better for it. I will be using the SUDT-2 when the time comes!

Went and did some drive way, drive to the shop and a path out past the barn and on out to the field. We didn't get a ton of snow, like others did, maybe 4" is all. Still, it all came flooding back to me why the BX is such a darn good snow machine. I don't have my front blade yet, (looking for a BX2763A setup) so I just used the bucket in float. What a joy to operate. I remember when doing the snow chores used to be kinda fun and honestly, the last 3 or 4 years it has been anything but fun.

Had it warmed up anyhow so I bucketed in some firewood. Just an excuse to keep using it really. :)

BP - This statement confuses me. Are you saying the B2320 wasn't good at snow removal duty? How was it set up for that work - front blade, rear blade, loader??? Just curious why it wasn't much fun before going back to a BX??

Chris, figured you'd notice that little confession. LOL

The B2320 was configured for summer work. Fire wood work but largely for the market gardens which had really grown over the years. But come winter, I didn't have a front snowblower, nor a front plow. I used a rear, back blade and FEL. Combined with the higher center of gravity and R4 tires, the B was never as effective as the BX. I'm not sure why the lower center of gravity works so well on the shorter machine, but it does. Coupled with the wheel weights and the turf tires, it was downright nimble and effective in the snow today, just as I remembered the 1860 I had years ago.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the clarification. I probably missed that information somewhere along the way reading all these posts. Not that I'm planning on trading up, but always good to be informed. Started clearing snow this year with my bucket since I was not done moving firewood, but now have the front plow on. Like you said, very nimble and surefooted, especially with turfs. Good luck with it and hope you find a front plow for it soon.

Thanks Chris. Good to re-connect. Long time.

They're pretty rare, as you know. I'll be patient. I got a line on one. It's pretty far away. We'll see if things can be worked out. I found one in the Akron area a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't last long, not with the predictions of this week's snow. They're a really hot sell in the early winter. Much tougher sell in spring, of course.

Anyhow, how's that BX25 been for you?
