I too have a RX7340 and found the filters on extremely tight. I used a rubber strap wrench to get it off. Took two of them as broke one. I almost took off my wheel so I could get better access to the filter, but with it being filled with fluid didn't want to deal with that much weight. My new filter came preinstalled on the filter housing, apparently at the time, Kioti didn't have just the filter in stock. This new filter on the housing was extremely tight as well and I put a couple of small indentions in the new filter just getting it off this housing. Had to put the housing in a vice and then use the strap wrench to get it off so I could then use it on the tractor. No paint, guessing just installed dry and by a gorilla.

This is really weird. I purchased a new Kioti RX7320 74hp. I am doing the 50hr service. I have bent 2 of the standard type filter removal tools and they have not even budged yet.
I have 1 more type coming tomorrow a 3 point type that uses a 1/2 ratchet. I am wondering would it help if i went around where it connects with a razor knife? There are 2 filters and they are about 3/8" apart so not much room.
I am not a career mechanic but I have turned a few wrenches in my day and have never seen a filter on this tight.

The high pressure hydraulic filters use an o-ring face seal unlike crankcase oil filters. So as the o-ring compresses there is bare steel to steel contact, we’ll guess what, rust! I used a chain wrench and 3’ bar to break mine loose last time. You’ll see what I mean when you finally get it off!

If you're talking hydrostatic filter, the pressure the filter needs to handle is a lot higher. Typical engine oil filter sees 100 psi max. Pressurized oil going into a hydro can be 500 psi. Completely different housing thickness, filter media, and tightness to keep from blowing out the seal (and seal type). I have a chain wrench and strap wrench used for plumbing. The Kubota mini-excavator I just bought came with a special filter wrench.

I have used a pry bar with a pointed end to punch it through the filter with hammer and turn it

Yep, this is a long standing issue on Kioti's.
I cheated and had the dealer perform the first service for me.

Meanwhile they probably half stripped your drain plug! Also one of the most commonly over tightened item.

Most spin on engine filters known as full flow are actually a bypass filter when the oil is cold and the flow or pressure gets too high. For hydraulic systems some cartridge filters are on the pressure side. Of course they are enclosed in their own housing.

Emory paper is best. Tougher and comes on roll.
