Never really thought about that. Makes sense, as it's pretty universal for end users to lube the gasket when installing a new filter.
Pretty sure they wouldn't at the factory.
It would be interesting to know how each manufacture does install their filters. At the Cummins plant where they build the X & M series of engines they do in fact have a container with an oil soaked sponge that you use to lube up the filter gasket then it is tightened with a torque wrench. It would be interesting how hard those are to change the fist time. I had to change them and they come off easy but the engines were just built last couple hours, were warm from running and had not been painted yet.

A large pair of channel-lock pliers has always been my go-to tool for filter removal. Only on rare occasions does access space force me to use something else.

I had the same problem. Final solution was a strap wrench with sandpaper wrapped around the filter to prevent slippage. Worked like a charm!

This is really weird. I purchased a new Kioti RX7320 74hp. I am doing the 50hr service. I have bent 2 of the standard type filter removal tools and they have not even budged yet.
I have 1 more type coming tomorrow a 3 point type that uses a 1/2 ratchet. I am wondering would it help if i went around where it connects with a razor knife? There are 2 filters and they are about 3/8" apart so not much room.
I am not a career mechanic but I have turned a few wrenches in my day and have never seen a filter on this tight.

Help
Had the same problem on a new rx6620. Used paint stripper all around filter base and problem solved

Might be an option. Have and like them.

These worked for me with my DK4510. Other methods did not work. Between paint and dry gasket surface, they are a bear to remove first time.

I have the same tractor and had the same problem. The filter installing gorilla loves his job. After pre-cutting the gaskets, crushing and tearing the filters using every wrench and strap available, I ended up cutting them off. Funny, this conversation is a main thread topic on other Kioti forums as well.

Measure the outer diameter of the filter. Look on Fleetpride.com They sell a variety of heavy duty filter band wrenches that are commercial grade. The stuff you find at auto parts stores are consumer grade. Once you get the proper size one, wrap coarse sandpaper around the filter for extra grip. Position the wrench up tight to the mounting end of the filter...not at the bottom, you don't want to distort the filter and still not get it broke loose. Had a Mack that had impossible to remove oil filters...used one of these with 1/2 breaker bar and cheater pipe to break loose.

I saw a guy do this on his motorcycle. Drove the screwdriver right through his nearby oil cooler 😫
You also want to be centered and close to the filter base, but not so close that you risk pounding your screwdriver into the exposed threads of your engine’s threaded nipple.

To make the screw driver trick work, you need to drive the screw driver through both sides of the filter. On the Kioti RX, there is an extension from the motor's filter housing that runs nearly the bottom of the filter, which wont allow a guy to puncture through the center of the filter. It's about an inch in diameter.

I have used the big channel lock trick before, it usually works. On late model Chrysler Hemi engines the filter is easy to get at but just the end with the socket style. On a 300c we had I was just crushing the end of the filter. I could just barely get on the base of the filter through the passenger wheel well. I was just getting tiny little turns that way and that thing had to be spun over half a turn before it would spin off by hand.
