Overpowered, overpriced new cars

If i had $40-50K burning a hole in my pocket, this is what i'd have

BMW 335d. Diesel engine, tons of power, amazing performance and awesome mileage. Best of both worlds.

You can get a new Hyundai 4 door sedan with 428 HP.

I can't even imagine a Hyundai sedan taking off at a red light and leaving a Corvette in the dust.

Since I only buy used cars and trucks, it's basically a matter of what the previous owner paid for.

Like JDgreen227, I can easily afford a new car or truck. I'm just not willing to spend the money. I've had some cool cars, but cars don't mean much to me anymore...except as transportation.

Gizmo2, one of the facts that has long endeared me to TBN is that in many instances, the members here are SO willing to help another member spend his hard earned money based on what we think is the best tractor, truck, or car for them. I am ALSO guilty of doing that, but mad that nobody here advised me what to buy before I joined TBN. That is MY loss.

Now, several years back, Ford brought out a very limited street production version of the Ford GT-40 (see the attached picture). That REALLY got my juices flowing!!! Of course, I doubt I could even get in it.

My Uncle surprised me when he sold his Old GT40... he had two of them at one time and took part of the money to buy the new one.

He said the difference is night and day... the new one is a pleasure to drive and actually has creature comforts and a full Ford extended warranty!

The old one was fun... still remember pulling up to a stop light, revving a little and setting off burglar alarms...

You basically had to slide in and were situated between two large saddle type fuel tanks.

Access to the motor was great because the entire rear section was hinged... used to spend hour sitting on the back wheels dusting and polishing...

Each GT and Cobra is tracked in a registry... it is amazing to see how they have ended up all over the world.

I tried to talk him into putting a TBN decal on the back... no go.
