Actually you are only part correct. Edge, H&S, Bully Dog,..etc all have gotten around this issue because it stated off road use only. I have deleted all my Diesel trucks after owning 2 that gave nothing but trouble do to EGR and DPF emission systems. This is nothing but a political money grab and a nightmare for equipment. You are correct that they were slapped with fines. Edge and H&S but both now sell under off road use only. At the end of the day it is a shame that this crap has now made its way on to Tractors.

I will NEVER buy ANY tractor with ANY emissions crap!
But......I am an old guy.

Beginning last fall, the epa has been going after the 鍍uners with big fines and cease and desist orders. There is no such thing as getting around the laws by putting an off road only sticker on a controller to skirt the law anymore.

Many of the tuners have withdrawn from the market after receiving huge fines.
Very true. Its a shame these bogus laws were put in place to begin with. I guess in the meantime we will just have to deal with the B.S. climate change emissions system and line the politicians pockets. Anyone with a basic understanding of how these engines work know that we are not saving the environment but burning more. Oh well. Its all over but the crying cause it will only get worse.

Say what you want, but I like breathing clean air. You may think that all of the black smoke that comes out of your tailpipe just disappears, but I don't believe in magic. One need only look at photos of Los Angeles and New York from back in the '60s to realize what those laws have accomplished, which some of you scoff at.

My friend I like breathing clean air also. I have been in the oil field for 35 years. I work on Diesel engines everyday. We had to put emissions on all engines. We went from burning 3 gallons an hour on an engine to 5 gallons an hour. More fuel burn means refineries need to refine more fuel. Where do you think energy comes from. Also where do you think Urea come from. They have plants. All of this is just a larger foot print. This is where you have been fooled. I see it from a different set of eyes. You just fill up your truck or tractor and think nothing of it. I have been in it from where it comes out the ground to where it is refined and i can tell you that they have you fooled. The air is no cleaner now than 15 years ago. Only thing different is the politicians are getting rich of this crap because of ill informed people. Glad you happy with it. And by the way if its rolling black smoke its out of tune. I wont even get into Los Angelas

The LA area had bad smog when it was inhabited solely by Native Americans because of its topography. It's more an extreme example than in any way a typical one. Apples to oranges, some would say.

I suggest that people who burn mounds of wet leaves and/or green wood will put more unburned hydrocarbons into the atmosphere in one long day than one my 1.1L, 1.5L, or 1.7L EGR/DOC Tier 2 & 4A tractors do in half as many hours.

So we might want to look again a wood gasification, ... or wait for catalytic converters required for campfires.

One of the lawn mower manufacturing companies that I am a service center for stopped supplying the special tools to adjust the carb on the 2 stroke engines because the EPA said that since the dealers don't have the multi thousand dollar testing equipment to confirm that the weedeater or chainsaw is still operating within emissions standards they could be a potential target for supplying emissions tools to unqualified personnel. And the dealers could also be fined for not having the special equipment.

Those that have been brainwashed into thinking that reducing engine emissions aren’t a worthwhile endeavor have your head in the sand. Air quality in the LA basin, for example is much better now than it was in the 1960s despite a population that has probably doubled.

I like my Diesel tractor that doesn’t stink.

There’s a huge difference between a 10 year old tractor that runs with hardly any noticeable emissions and a 1960s diesel that bellows smoke constantly.

In the '60s (late) America's cars had carburetors and point ignitions. In my neighborhood there was a car from the '40s or '50s on every other block.

There might have been a few 40's '50s cars in LA then too unless they rust out younger than around here where we build 'em. :scratchchin:

So far in the '20s, I'm happy with my own Tier 2 & 4T CUTs and with doing my best in the Midwest for clean air in Michigan's basins, too. :)
