The plywood roof I made:

The roof is 1/2" pressure treated plywood, the full 48" wide & 67" long (need to measure it).

Under the roof are two 2x4's with notches for the ROPS. Also, crossways under the roof is a 2x8.

The 2 diagonal supports are 1.5"x1.5" steel square tube members.

The roof & the 2 diagonal supports are connected to the ROPS using square U-bolts.

I used a plate from the kitchen to draw the rounded corners, then cut them with a jig saw. Then routed the edge of the plywood, top & bottom with a little corner-round (quarter-round?) bit.

I painted the entire thing with black fence paint from Tractor Supply. That stuff is great: Covers great & doesn't require perfect surface prep.

I believe the cash outlay for this roof was about $100. About $25 for the plywood. Maybe $5 each for the 4 U-bolts. I already had the 5-gallon container of paint. The steel was something like $14/ each. A couple 2x4's & a 2x8.

Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Edit: Forgot to menton, with the plywood sitting right on top of the ROPS like this, with the supporting 2x4's below the ROPS as you see, this only increases the tractor's overall height by about 1 inch (1/2" for the plywood plus ~1/2" for the threaded ends of the square U-bolts coming up thru the plywood).

Edit 2: I used the 2x4's & 2x8 like this because I want to be able to stand on the roof & cut limbs very high with the pole saw. I haven't actually tried it yet  I will, very carefully(!), just haven't needed to yet.

Nicely done,

Dont mind if I copy it, it is a winner.

Sure, no problem - As long as when you talk about it, you call it "The Beppington" ... OK, or "The Bepp" for short

Darn, spent many days/hours in Alachua, FL and around Ocala for work back in the 90's and never saw any monkeys! Saw a lot of the little lizzards, it was all the rage for the ladies to dangle them from their ear lobes as jewelry... not much to do in Alachua if you don't got to Gainesville. :confused2:

The rhesus monkeys are only along the Silver River & aren't native. Recall Silver Springs park with its glass bottom boat rides? The Silver River flows out of there. Here's why they're there:

In the 1930s, "Colonel Tooey, a concessionaire who operated the Jungle Cruise boat ride, established the first troop of wild rhesus monkeys on an island in the Silver River. Tooey established the colony to attract visitors to his ride. He did not realize the rhesus monkeys were excellent swimmers. They quickly escaped, forming wild troops along the river."

1932-42 Six of the original Tarzan movies, starring Johnny Weissmuller, were filmed on location at Silver Springs.

1958-1961 More than 100 episodes of "Sea Hunt," starring Lloyd Bridges, were filmed at Silver Springs.

Today I discovered this nice little slot in my L3940's LA724 loader (slot on both sides) that holds my machete (one on each side if you want) in a secure, easy access location, no mods necessary, just drop it in / lift it out. Haven't found any downsides to it so far, of course it's only been a day.
