I am late to this thread, but I just wanted to say a skid steer with a badazz brush mower on front will do some serious work! Makes me want to rent one again this fall.
Yes sir, in a lot of cases it's a better solution for the customer than a drum mulcher unless they want sawdust, not saying it can outdo a drum mulcher but the right forestry mower can produce a really good finished product usually at a much lower price point.I am late to this thread, but I just wanted to say a skid steer with a badazz brush mower on front will do some serious work! Yeah it belongs to the company that I buy my fertilize from, the problem is a lot of people use it and don't take care of it, when I went to pick it up this week they told me my fertilizer was loaded and it was ready to go, problem is I had already looked at it and whoever used it before me broke the belts and said nothing so right out of the gate had to get two belts ,separate the drive chain at the master link and put them on, but was able to get it done after that. That's a really nice spreader!!!
Eddie, this cutter does a really good job of mulching up vines, bushes, underbrush etc , it's the 18 carbide teeth on the bottom of the blade carrier that processes the material up to fine debris/mulch by back dragging when really thick. That's a really amazing before and after!!!
I've been using my backhoe to clear stuff like that. I pull it all out, and into a pile, then use by grapple to haul it to the burn pile. I end up with a pretty big pile of debris in just a few hours. It's amazing to me that there isn't a massive pile of cut material all over the place in your after pictures.
