Here are some plowing pics. I bought a used 12 inch Brinly plow but it had a category 0 hitch. JD still has in stock the cat 1 mast to fit this plow but it was way too much money so I made my own to fit the I-match. This makes it easy on and off and just a few seconds to adjust the right lift arm and top link. I was plowing 6 to 8 inches deep in this garden in low gear at 2300 RPM and never had a problem. I never knew plowing was so much fun!

Nice pics! :) That doesn't look anything like our topsoil here in New England.

That's some really good lookin' dirt, and you're right plowing is fun, and a lot more soothing for the psyche than an $80 an hr. couch, the only problem I've found is, I always run out of plot before I get done plowing.:D

Bigtiller -

Great setup and great pictures. I'm happy to say that your ground looks very similar to mine here in MN. :)

You need some nice big rocks in that plot to really test your nerves.

Nice job. I noticed it looked like the grass was dead where you were plowing, and the perimeter is green. Did you use roundup or something before you plowed?

I miss that good midwestern soil... The God-awful red clay in VA won't grow anything and will eat little plows like that. It would take me about three passes to get that deep...

Thanks for sharing the photos!

You've made me realize that I "need" a plow and disc now.

They are becoming hard to get. I debated too long before I decided to buy one. JD and Brinly have quit making the category 1 plow and I ended up driving 560 miles round trip to get mine. I probably could have found one closer had I waited but I wanted to go to a plowing event with some friends.

BTDT
The grass that looks dead is just garden weeds and quack grass that went dormant and was mowed before I plowed.

I couldn't help but notice the rather content look on your face ! Not a bad looking finished product either. I'd guess that isn't the first time you've ever had ahold of a plow.
