Pole Saw

Couldn't agree more Wushaw, I've never seen any need to use Stihl oil in a Stihl. I've used mostly Husky, but recently switched to Stihl low-smoke so I'd breathe in fewer particulates - not so my engine would last longer.

Lucky: I don't feel that your unfortunate experience(s) with Stihls prove that they are "hyped junk". My experiences, and those of the vast majority of Stihl owners whose comments I have heard and read, have been the exact opposite.

Got my Stihl out yesterday and took it to a friends house. He has been after me for a year to trim his limbs.

It had been sitting for 6 months in the shed. And it started on the first pull.

Anyway we cut limbs for about an hour and a half. I showed him how to cut them starting towards the end and working back towards the trunk. He had a great time using it but he wasn't looking at the mess we were leaving behind us. When we got through he looked around and could not believe how much he had to clean up.

Then to the daughters house and trim there. My arms are so sore I can hardly type this morning. Using one of those things for four hours is a killer.

One use that I have not mentioned is trimming limbs on evergreens close to the ground. At the daughters house there are several trees and bushes which are leaf catchers. I lay on the ground on insert the saw through the prickly limbs and saw away. Those limbs are left behind for somebody else to drag to the burn pile.
