Post-dozer roadside dirt

A number of dead trees on my property were too large (50 plus feet tall, 4 feet in diameter) for my chainsaw and tractor (and me) to handle, so I hired a crew to put in a road and haul out the trees. The bulldozer made a fine dirt road, appropriately crowned and with 1 foot ditches on the sides. The dirt from the ditches was displaced by the blade into a continuous pile about 2 feet high along the roadside just outside the ditches. For appearance purposes, I'm considering flattening out the dirt ridge with my FEL (driving from the road outward towards the dirt ridge), leveling it with a box blade, and then broadcasting grass seed. Any reason to keep dirt piled up along the roadside (the adjacent land is flat, so will not drain onto the road), if I'm able to maintain a swale on either side of the road for drainage. Any other ideas on how to best flatten the dirt ridge without fouling up the ditches?

I don’t see any reason your plan will not work. If it were me, I would knock down the piles and let them sit for a season before seeding. Nature will do a lot of the flattening for you.

Cisco, as Mark said should work and look good. The one item I need to disagree with, is to seed them when you get throught leveling them... around here if I do not plant something when I turn up the dirt then some else comes up that I do not care to have...
