Posthole Digger Post Hole Digger - slow

Rock bits are good but mucho exspensivo! Last time I priced one it was $900+- cheaper to rent a skidloader and auger attachment. I have rebuilt several commercial auger bits that I have bought at auction, and use on my Asv Rc-30. I don't think I have more than $200 in any of them. The heavy ones with the individual replaceable teeth and centers seem to work best in moderately rocky conditions.

I got a tip that replaced the stock tip. It looks like a screw. I got it at my local farm store. It will sink into any ground, even our rock hard Georgia red clay. You actually have to be careful the auger does not screw itself into the ground and get stuck. I think it cost me around $25 dollars. They stay sharp for about 15 holes in hard ground.
