Propane Prices

Does anyone know how to go about buying your own 1000 gal tank?
I have talked to my supplier and they do not sell
I have tried to do searches, nothing seems to pop for me

I know there has to be a place to purchase them, but not around North East Indiana as far as I can tell

In Wisconsin the regulations are such that most places will not service a 1,000 gal tank on a residential tank...they are worried about a failure that would cause the tank to drain and the customer would be hurting much worse than a 250 or 500 gal tank. I also ran into that when I stubbed out to feed my gas grill to avoid the cost/inconvenience of using the 20# tanks...my supplier will not do it.

I checked into prices yesterday here in NW Iowa and contract was at .93 for pre-pay or $1.03 for 20 cents down at time of booking. I own my 1000 tank and usually do the .20 down. I lost a little money by booking too much last year and if you can't get it all in by end of contract you lose the money down. Will do a little less this year. Prices have been pretty much flat here since last winter. I filled 2-- 20# grill tanks for $24.00 with tax at the same time.

Just had a 1000 gal tank delivered and filled at 79 cents a gallon. Locked in to 89 cents a gallon for the next 1500 gallons delivered or 1 year. (Northern Indiana)

What are the prices looking like now? I just got a price from Suburban Propane in Ohio, $2.69 (approx. 250 gallons) for a current customer.

I got a price two days ago south of Reno, NV for $1.35 gal. This is from a small independent distributer and for an owned tank, just topping up for the winter and the purchase will be for 3 - 4 hundred gallons.

The link below is supposed to be the national average price for retail home delivered propane . . . currently at a hair over $2 per gallon, so I guess I shouldn't be whining too much about price in my area.
