One option the propane company has been pushing is metered rates... where the homeowner is charged as gas is used....
Since we own the tank... it didn't apply to us...
The Bear damage last year was expensive to the tune of $600 in lost propane the supplier said if we had been leasing or metered... the repair and lost contents would have been covered instead of out of pocket...
Some said we could submit a damage claim to homeowners and with a $250 deductible I decided against it... insurance can be very hard to get now in California and even more so for seasonal homes.
