Um if the gauge moves that meant the sensor was good right? And I'm not so sure your battery is not weak or bad as well. After a day or so I would expect the resting volts to be closer to 12.6! My boat battery when I took battery tender off it was right round 13 v after a few days. When sitting without tenders they always were 12.6 ish. I have always been told 12.65 is a good battery. Yours leads me to think u have a bad battery so that when u check volts at battery as it running instead of seeing 13 something u see lower due to a funny acting potentially suspect battery.

Not sure but I think you misunderstood. His gauge moved when he touched the wire to ground which tells him the gauge is probably working but the sender is not.

I have used the tractor for an hour or so today and the battery is reading 12.5v although the alt/dynamo light is constantly on and the battery light is on and off. Order from Hoye tractors arrives at the end of this week so a lot to get through.

I've ordered

Voltage regulator
Temp sending unit
English decals
Fuel filter
Oil filter
Air filter
Exhaust Muffler assembly
Indicator turn switch
New light bulbs
1610 operators manual.

Something tells me I might be posting a few questions next week

My parts arrived from Hoyes today and the first job was to deal with the charge light. It took 2 minutes to replace the regulator and the charge light is now out !!

Next job tomorrow is to replace the temp sensor and hopefully get that temp gauge working.

Thanks to all for you're help so far.

I'll post some pic's hopefully in the next day or so.

3 Point Linage Question - Can anybody help ?

I am a complete novice when it comes to tractor ownership. I have recently been given a grader for our ménage. I've hooked it up to my Yanmar, but the height of the grader mounting pins means that only part of the grader touches the ground, although I am assuming the whole thing should make contact with the ground ?

Is this grader for a larger tractor ? my linkage seems to be working ok, any suggestions ? IMG-20130810-00340.jpg

Not for sure but I believe your side links are way to far back on the lower lift arms. Might try moving them to a hole further forward on the lower lift arms. I cannot see the back of the grader so perhaps you are saying either the front of the back of the grader is not touching the ground. If that is the case then you need to shorten or lengthen the top link. Here is a parts list of the 3 point components. Yanmar Tractor Parts: Under_20_HP

How about some pictures with it hooked up?

Thanks Winston1 - yes, only the back of the grader touches the ground. Ok - So if I move the side links back to the spare holes on the lower lift arms (next to the bolts you can see on pic) then the linkage will be lower and therefore attach to the grader. Great, I'll give it a try as soon as I get home from work.
