Pulling with the Drawbar

Like that cage on your tractor Glade. Some close ups would be real interesting. A great way to mitigate a roll over along with a tree slap now and again.

There's a thread on the cage. Search "cage for Kioti LB1914". The cage has now been cut apart and modified to fit my DS4510HS. Won't go in the wood without it!

Drawbar pull is determined by many factors, such as engine torque, tractor weight, tire type, rear axle gear ratio and more that I don't remember.

Try looking up the tractor model here: TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors
Ah ha trick question. But it did make me research it. Nothing o TD. Nothing in my book. I didn't check the Nebraska test yet, but they seemed a little incomplete on that tractor. Then I read up on it in google.

Seems like I would not know be able to compute it without some facts that I don't have. Such as trans gearing and engine torque, which may be in my book. But the whole thing seems subjective to tire wear and the soil or gravel conditions from which your pulling. Also figuring in headwinds and humidity factors could change it so much that it doesn't seem reliable.
If it was a set figure like tow weight, what would happen if I was pulling the max amount drawbar pull. I was pulling it up a 4% incline on slick red clay with a almost empty tank of fuel with the front bucket off and a hay spear on. Would that rating be the same as factory data? I doubt it.

Right, it would be less. Basically it comes down to, "it is what it is" and "it will or it won't".

The Nebraska Test Lab is a good way to compare different tractors, but I don't know if they are still doing the newer tractors.

Bobcat lists my V417 drawbar pull at 6970 pounds and Boom Breakout Force is 6744 lbf. But all I know is, "it does what it does". :D

I like s219 idea if you have another tree to pull from.

Anyway here is a video of how not to do it with an F250.

I watched some of the attached videos. It is boggling to me that people can act so stupidly and not foresee any possible consequences. The guy pulling on the palm tree with his cable attached to the rollover bar takes the cake. I mean...what else could they be thinking that would have been an alternative happening to make it seem "alright to do"? These people actually spawned which is perhaps even scarier.

If a guy had a cable say 95' long and wanted to pull over a 12" oak tree that is about 65 feet tall. How far up the tree would be a safe pull. At what angle would be safe hooked to the drawbar without picking up the rear wheels.

I've been involved with "cable drops" on several occasions. Allow me to know how much of a diversion fall from it's natural inclination is.

Here is one of my "cable drops", winch cable, that is.

I don't think "rating" has anything to do with conditions. I think it's the manufacturer's engineering calculation of what they figure won't cause damage when used within their design envelope of normal operations. It isn't intended to imply you will successfully pull that much no matter how much muck you're in or no matter what hill you're climbing.
