I could write a book about the poor service in the RV industry. That's why I'm understanding about the tractor. My son thinks I should be raising the roof.
I come from a service oriented generation. My business is all about quality service and the customer. That's what has kept us busy for many years. This newer generation doesn't understand service and doesn't care about service or customer satisfaction.
So far it seems like the service department at my Deere dealer may be doing a good job. They picked up the tractor on time and had already ordered the radiator. I was disappointed with my salesman. He's the one that told me the backhoe would fit and still insists it should fit.
If this happened at my business, I would supply a unit for my customer to use until the one they bought worked. I guess that's the difference between someone who cares and someone who doesn't.
I update on the 2305 when I get it back.

rvtech,

Have you gotten an update on the estimated time to get the correct parts for the backhoe?

Yes, please keep us posted on how the warranty work goes. I will keep the terrain in mind when traveling with my 2305. I will definitely take a look at how the radiator is mounted when I receive the tractor, that is if and when it gets delivered. It keeps moving out. Now it's November for a delivery time. I also have noticed the same change in Customer Service as you have. My RV is on its third trip to the dealer to repair problems noted on delivery. We are rooting for ya here in Phoenix that all is resolved in a timely manner and to your satisfaction.

Woods estimated time is 6 weeks. They told me they have a prototype done. It has to go back to engineering, production, marketing, part # assignment, boxing etc......

I hope it gets done that quick. I think I'll keep calling myself to be sure I know when its available.

I know how parts go in my business. The manufacturer never calls when the part is availabe.

Dealer called. Radiator is back ordered. Estimated time of arrival unknown. I told them that's unacceptable. I asked to talk to a manager, he said they would either take one from a new 2305 off the lot or get a demo to me to use until mine's fixed. He said he would call back with an answer as to which they would do. Guess what? Never called. I called them again and talked to service. He called Deere back and got an estimated time of availability of Oct 25th. I figure "if" it's available on the 25th I will be lucky to see my new tractor by November. Quite a deal for a new tractor.

They now say they will call me back with either a quicker time for the new radiator, a new radiator taken from a unit on the sales lot, or a demo mower to use.

My one month vacation time from work to get my new property in shape is going fast. No backhoe (which is why I took the month off) and now no loader or mower.

So far, very poor service from John Deere. Very poor parts support from John Deere. Very poor salesman performance from J.D Equipment. Lies from management at J.D. Equipment.

This is the first new vehicle I have owned since 1988. I usually buy used and fix. I'm very disappointed in this entire transaction. This is the very reason I purchased new. Time is very valuable to me. It's all being wasted. My new property is for business and personal use. This loss of time completely ruins my plans. I will not have my home ready when needed or my storage buildings ready for spring. I now need the same thing I needed before I purchased this tractor. (a mower, loader and backhoe) I'm just without $17000 now.

rv,

Man that sucks. I can only imagine what you're feeling, and hope someone at the dealer/Deere gets their act together. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

RVtech, sorry to hear about your frustration. The backhoe thing could have been avoided by a simple phone call by your salesman before assuming that woods would have a hoe for a brand new model. Some salesman will say anything to close a deal. Now you have a new model with a warranty issue and the parts are on BO. Shame on mother deere for letting this happen. I would think that your dealer would me more than happy to swap radiators out of a new unit. If not this dealer shouldn't be representing Deere and let him sell another brand.

I am lucky enough to have a great dealer to take care of me here in Mid Michigan. They always picked it up and delivered it free of charge plus it was always washed and waxed. They continue to go beyond my expectations and as long as they do business this way I will do business with them. I have a new 4110 being delivered to me tomorrow. The 2210 is being traded in. It's 19 months old with 380 hours. Kudo's to my Mason Michigan Deere dealer!

Good luck and I truley hope this works out for you.

My service guy called today. They are installing a radiator from a new 2305 today and are supposed to deliver it back tomorrow.

I'm interested in the reason for trading a 2210 on a 4110. I liked the bigger tractor too when I was shopping, but it seemed like a lot of extra money and less horsepower.

rvtech,

I'm in the same boat, trying to justify the difference. The primary reason, assuming I jump is really around two things (FOR ME): a) second pump on the hydro and b) the position control value on the 3-point. In no way, am I implying this is not worth the change, but the 2210/2305 is a serious little machine with attitude.

Great...glad to hear your dealer is stepping up.

As far as reasons for trading in the 2210 for the 4110.

1. More ground clearance.
2. No hydro fan to break.
3. Larger tires should equal better ride (I hope).
4. Loader seems to be faster and has slightly better load rating.
5. Hydro filter farther up out of harms way.
6. Top link plate leaking (see other threads about this).
7. 3 point hitch position control and 1100+ lbs lifing capacity.

Ok..now for the lack of HP. The 2210 has a great power to weight ratio. No doubt about it. It is a little work horse. Check out my link to pics and you will see some of what I did with that tractor. Out of the 380 hours on it about 50 was mowing or bushhogging. The rest was loader or ground engaging. The 4110 with HST is actually rated at 21 hp the 4110 CST is 20 HP. The gearing seems to be different between the the 4110 and 2210 and might make up for the drop in HP. I just recieved the 4110 late this evening and only had time to drive it up on of my slopes. I have the loaded R4's which should give me worse case scenario of power to ground. It drove right up the slops as well as the 2210 did with it's weighted R4's and my 4110 is heavier. This weekend will tell me how much I have lost if any when I get the subsoiler working in my hard clay. Also lots of loader work to do this weekend so I should have a good evaluation by Sunday.

I think there might be a difference between the heigth of the R4's vs the R1's. Others can probably confirm either way of this. If this is so the 4110 owers with the R1's will probably experience even better performance.

Anyway welcome to the board and good luck.
