I got quoted $1100 plus tax for a quick attach (650) plus bucket (450) plus tax for my GC1720 DL95. I was thinking if I convert my existing bucket to a quick attach (maybe another $300 parts and labor), I can dedicate that bucket for the BXpanded Piranha tooth bar. Its a lot of money and I still need a box scraper and possibly other attachments. I would like some of your opinions before I make the purchase. I feel like having a quick attach makes the tractor more versatile in the long term.

I have the quick attach on my GC1720 and use it to switch items. It does make it easy. The PTB does come off somewhat easy though so don't know if you absolutely would need to dedicate a bucket for that.
For QA forks, grapples (more money for 3rd function) etc. the QA is great, so you need to think how often you will do the switch.
So maybe QA + forks instead of a 2nd bucket to offset the fork costs a bit?

You will not regret it. I actually sold my 2014 GC1710, and bought a 2019 GC1723e, partially due to the SSQA.

Like Ken said, get pallet forks, you will not regret that either.

I put my PTB on a year and 115 hours ago, have not found a reason to remove it yet.

I think having the extra bucket will be nice as I won’t have to wait to covert the other before I can use the loader+bucket. Thank you guys for your opinions. I am worried the PTB would damage my asphalt and concrete and I don’t feel like taking it on and off all the time so a second bucket worth the tooth bar I can leave on will be nice. If I have the backhoe off, could I use those hydraulics for a grapple? Just need some sort of controller for it?

Not sure on the backhoe lines, if they can be used to run a 3rd function.

You have to be cognizant of the PTB for sure, but really no more than the factory bucket edge.

I spend time on tarmac. To me no difference PTB or edge. Bottom of PTB on bucket is flat and using either can put a scratch in tarmac. I think edge tamers might be what you are looking for?

I like curling the bucket to raise the front when when I work on the front or when I am using the backhoe. Keeping the bucket flat with the dl95 won’t get you much lift up front. Back dragging is also a concern. Moving 2” rocks may dull the tooth bat possibly? Maybe I am wrong.

Well, it’s installed. Excited about all the potential now for attachments.
Looking to buy this and welding it on the old bucket after I remove the brackets behind the bucket for the pins. YINTATECH 5/16" Skid Steer Mount Plate Quick Attachment Loader Plate Compatible for Kubota Bobcat Tractor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S73ZQD2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_V-0SEbH2V9ZYN

The dealer thinks I should box in the front portion of the dl95 to strengthen it. He said he has seen it fail before. See the portion around the lateral support tube and both. Behind and below. Fully boxed in. IMG_3232.JPG

Aren't you just moving the potential failure point to something more expensive to repair?

Looks like they changed the design of the SSQA toolkit. Mine looks quit different than that. Looks like they shortened the distance between the plate attach point and the pins. Also went with a welded steel cross member vs lateral roundstock through the bottom pin mounting holes.IMG_20200325_193803.jpg

Yes it does look like they got the SSQA shortened a bit, that's a nice update.
The PTB I use to get through rocky soil and diabase and it certainly is not dulling or even looking affected so far.

This looks a bit more well built to me so I am glad I got this. The bucket is also taller so I feel like it’s an upgrade. My dealer who I got the tractor from offered $150 for the old bucket. I can probably get more but he has a used box blade he is selling me for $300 so I am going to go with that. Thanks for the feedback on the PTB. I will install it and see how it goes. Thanks!

What's the part number on that bucket? Is it still just 48" wide and not 54"?

Dislike mowing with my front bucket on, so right now I remove the entire loader. If I were to move to this setup it could be a serious and changer. It is a little out front, but nowhere near the distance of the bucket.

Also anyone know if they sell a 54” bucket or will any SSQA bucket work once the modifications is complete?

You can get any size bucket you want that attaches to a SSQA. You just have to consider the weight + payload to make sure it’s within safe limits of your tractor. Commercial skid steers have a many times the HP of our tractors. I love this setup setup so far.

I have found a 54" bucket that weighs about 150lbs. It would probably be a good candidate for a smaller tractor at that weight but I'd be Leary of how tippy the tractor would be without wheel spacers

I always took my loader off the 1710 to mow. Last year, the first with the 1723, I did as well. This year I just drop the bucket, saves 10-15 minutes each mow.

I have a GC2610 that I use for plowing snow with a home made 60" bucket and have no problems on flat ground even when it is picking up near it's maximum capacity.
