Yesterday, the wife was out shopping so I had her stop by HF and pick up a quick hitch. It was on sale $79.99 plus I had a 20% off coupon. $63.99 + tax, so for about $68 I could have a quick hitch.
I explained to her that I wanted her to measure the distance between the ends and it should be 27.5".... She got there and called and said The box says 28.5" and when she measured it, it was 26.5". And of course The web says it is 27.5". I told her to just buy it and if it was wrong I could return it.
When she got it home, I immediately measured it and it was 27.5" between the two lower hooks. She was measuring between the two down tubes (my fault for explaining it wrong to her).
It looks pretty solid. I can't see how you could or would need to make it much more heavy duty.
I took it out and tried to hook it up to my one attachment. It connected right up to my BX42 wood
chipper (I did have to adjust the top hook lower).... I will need to get those sleeves for the pins from TSC because the pins that came with the wood chopper are pretty small when sitting in the quick hitch hooks.
I am in the market for a box blade so I will make sure of the width for the lower hooks and that it will allow the top hook to just slip up and in before I buy it.
Seems to me $68 is worth it, I could buy 4 HF for the cost of 1 JD one.
Is the JD 4 times better?
