Quick connect jumper cables

I don't know about the rest of you, but my Kubota always has a good battery (since I use it so much) and many of my other battery powered pieces of equipment and ATV's often have dead batteries.

I got tired of taking off the center panel on my Kubota BX to get to the battery to jump it so I canobalized some jumper cables with some quick connects and I can jump and dead item very quickly. I would recommend this to anyone who "jumps" a lot

I did this the other year. My tractor battery was always half dead, and it was a COLD winter. Every time I had to plow, the battery always died before I could get the tractor started. This was a near daily event.

So I opened up my charger, removed the charging wires. I replaced them with 25 feet of heavy duty cord, so it could reach across the garage. Then I wired in a female quick connect plug on the end. I wired in a male quick connect on the tractor battery. All it took to hook up the charger (and never worry about whether I got the terminals right) is to plug the two ends together, twist and lock.

Then in case I ever needed the charger for my car battery, I added a pigtail with heavy alligator clips on one end, with the other end a mating quick connect plug.

The Anderson connectors are the only way to go!
Be sure to get the mid sized ones, i.e. rated for 300 amps or so.
I have used them for years now and they are bullet proof.

The connector that he used is what is used on electric folk lifts and pallet jacks. They are widly available from suppliers that deal in lift equipment

Anderson connectors also have rubber plug protectors to keep the dirt out when not in use. I don't know where from in your area.
