Radio wiring for XR3037HC cab models

Thanks for the wiring information, It's duplicated on the 4046's.

Question for anyone who has installed a radio in one of these cabs. What did you use to mount the stereo in the roof? My stereo came with a mounting sleeve, but there does look to be anything to slip it into. I'm familiar with car stereo installs where the vehicle has a "din" mounting bracket that the sleeve slides into.

What did you use? How did your bracket and fitment work?

Thanks,
Scotchity

I used one of the audio kits from deplorablediesel.com when I installed mine. The mount is 3d printed but seems quality, my radio is nice and secure and the install looks professional. They also have the connectors that mate with the factory harness in case you are like me and don't like cutting your wire harness.

Scotchity,
on mine I just used the sleeve. Slide it into the opening and bend the tabs up and down to secure it.

Smurf,
No need to cut any wires. If you look at the original post they are individual crimp connectors plugged into the factory wiring. Mine has been installed like this over 4 years without issue.

Shucks, most car radios only want +12 volts a ground and an antenna.
Naturally U want to fuse the + line.

From there the speaker (S) use the radio speaker outputs.

On a tractor you'd be suggested to have the antenna spring base mounted as branches etc tend to snag it from time to time.

Scrap yards are generally an excellent source of quality car radios, and at a good price!

There was already an antenna and speakers on my XR3135HC. The speakers are cheap with a tinny sound. Throw them away and install good speakers. Also, get a stereo with Bluetooth capability.

I agree for the lighter decks that there wouldn't be any need for the install kit. The Kenwood I used is pretty heavy and the tabs were barely holing it while the tractor wasn't bouncing around. Looked like it was going to fall out the first bump I hit in the field. I probably just as easily could have grabbed a different deck but I really wanted the CD player that I've never used :)

I know this is an older thread but I wanted to say thank you for all the information about the radio install. I bought a MT342 Cab model recently and it did not have a radio in it. I added one myself and these bits of information here made it easier.

I made a video of my install if anyone is interested: LS Tractor Radio Install - Cheap and Easy - MT342 Cab - YouTube

Thanks again.

I need to say thank you to the OP for this thread too! I referenced this thread when I installed the head unit on my tractor. And to JLwoodworks (if he is still on here) for the idea to replace the crap speakers.

This site is full of very useful information! Thank you to all who contribute!!
