Rear Chains For B3200....

Check this link for I made in an earlier thread in this forum describing my experience using V-bar Ladder style chains, then V-bar Duo-Grip chains, then finally a "Euro-style" chain (what I should have been using all along): OFA EKO 8 chains.

There are also lots of threads on chain selection in the Snow Removal section.

I have never used chain tensioners either...or chains for that matter. I own both, use the tensioners to hold down tarps and the chains to take up floor space.

You also don't need to plow much snow:)

Needing some input on rear tire chains for my B3200.... I've never ran chains on it in the 12 winters I've owned it but given the hill ground here I probably should break down & buy a set for the rear... Is there any brand that stands out? What chain design should be considered? Also, who uses tensioners? :confused3: TIA

What type of tires (I did read the thread...sorry if I missed it)?

I know with R4 tires on my tractor, and ladder style chains, about 80 percent of the chain falls between the lugs.

Still better than no chains, but a different style chain would be MUCH better in my case.

I'm running R4 tires... I'll keep that in mind!

You will need to order spacers from Kubota or any company that makes them.

Remove your rear wheels, and install spacers.

Reinstall your rear wheels and mount the chains.

Thanks beckmurph! :drink:

OBTW...… How wide do the spacers need to be? I'm seeing them range from 1.5" - 6"....

A 1.5” might work.
None of the B’s I have owned, B2620/3200/2650, have had enough clearance for chains. So I have never used them.

I have thought about using chains on the steering axle, but never followed through.

Good luck.

Hmmm... I wondered about front chains.... Yeah, the only reason I was considering chains was to combat some of my many slopes that get a little tricky to navigate in snow... I'm getting older & losing my balls... Seeing the prices for spacers is another reason to rethink things...

Yes, spacers are not cheap. $300 from Kubota.
Chains on front axle worried me, due to lack of spacing there.

But, I flipped/reversed my tires side to side, on the front axle and gained plenty of space.
