Rear End Loader?

I came across this page last night and found it, I don't know, interesting I guess. Does such an item exist? Is it useful? I can't really see this succeeding in reality.

However, front end loaders are generally dedicated to a tractor. That is, it is not very easy to connect and disconnect a front end loader from a tractor. Therefore, one will find that, as a general rule, front end loaders remain mounted to a tractor for relatively long periods of time. This, of course, means that the tractor is tied up and not useful with other implements.

I can't think of any implements that I'd need to take my loader off in order to use. I guess a plow in the winter or a snowblower, but I have zero of these.

A rear end loader? I think that option is only avialable in CA.

I've seen these before. Limited lift heght, more of a "load and carry" unit.

Cannot for the life of me remember make/model, etc...

Definitely a limited us item. Might be better off adapting a rear scoop bucket into a loader. If you're set on a rear end loader, Ford has been building bidirectional tractors for that purpose for years.

I don't know about that. I generally always take the 460 FEL off my JD4700 when I mow or bush hog. It takes maybe 3 minutes tops and makes for a much more pleasant experience not having that loader hanging off the front end.

1. Lower bucket all the way and pull lever on loader from drivers seat
2. "Raise" bucket which will pull the entire loader up and away from the tractor
3. Shut off engine and release any pressure by moving the controller in all directions
4. Disconnect the 4 hydraulic hoses
5. Start tractor and back away

It takes more time to add the 8 weights on the front bumper afterwards.

There was a Ford/Dearborn rear loader back in the 8N era. It is convenient for older tractors that were not designed for front loader attachment.

Here are some pics that I don't know where they came from (UK I think)but they show some 3 pt buckets.

NH has one (pictured) but thats because its on the TV series tractor which has a rotational cockpit. you can swing the entire thing around and "backward" now becomes forward. with 3 pt hitches at both ends of the tractor.

This company makes them for larger tractors. In the past were much more common but I don't see them much any more except on farms sales.

Interesting info and pictures!

I could see some use for it my own personal needs during snow removal season, perhaps. A plow on the front coupled with a mechanism for still doing some scooping could possibly be helpful.
