NH TC33D w/R4 Tires, Rear Remote, Hydraulic Toplink, 2 Auxiliary Work Lights, 7308 Loader w/Kasco Uni-Hitch (Quick Tach)
I bought a New Holland TC33D in December. I spent about as much money as I could at that time just to get the tractor, fel, and rear blade. By visiting this site I knew that a rear remote was an option but I didn't know why I might want one. Now I am thinking that I might want one to operate a hydraulic top link. I am having my brother-in-law build me a 3-point mini brush brute that I saw at this site and I beleive if I had a hydraulic top link the brush brute would be even more devestating. So is the rear remote something that I can buy and install myself? I don't know squat about hydraulics yet but am willing to learn. How much would a genuine New Holland rear remote kit cost? Is there more than one kind of rear remote? Would a kit come with instructions?

Thanks, Spence

Spence, that's an awesome tractor and signature. Might want to double check the sig size though. The guidelines are under 5K. I've attached a smaller (4K) version.

Spencer, try reading <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=nhown&Number=89244&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1>this thread</A> and look at the pictures posted there. I think it has all the answers you're looking for.

You beat me to it Bird! You know, I was thinking that it might be a good idea to put posts like mine (the remote install) in a special place like an Installations area (someone come up with a better name) so that anyone can go there and get help for common tasks. I think I've noticed in older posts that the pictures eventually disappear.

How about the same thing for my Kubota 2710 ? Where are the control levers installed as there are no precut slots for the levers.

Thanks guys for the links to the previous posts. I will try to read through them this weekend.

Kcbarnes, how much did your remote kit cost?

John, I had a little trouble finding that thread (bad memory; couldn't remember your name). But it was a darned good thread; you did a good job with the messages and the pictures, so there's no doubt others are going to have the same question and it would be good if that thread could be found quickly. I'm just not sure how to go about it.

My rear remote kit cost 225.00 and included everything for the first set of remotes.

I agree, there should be some kind of "frequently asked questions" (FAQ) section on TBN. In this case, it could be a list of pointers to threads that answer the questions...

For clarity for those considering adding TNT to their tractors, I assume this price was for one control valve and remote outlet (and plumbing?). This would NOT include the cylinder and hoses to replace your toplink. This gets you "ready" to add a hydraulic toplink (or other hydraulically driven unit).

Please correct me if I'm wrong on the above. (If I am wrong, I paid a WHALE of a lot too much for my TNT set-up.)

You're right, John. Like it says, that's for ONE pair of remotes, and is just a start toward top 'n tilt./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif I think I spent close to $800.

You are correct, that is just the remotes to run a cyl. on an implement or top link.

kc,

Did you have to remove your rear tire to do the installation? If so, do your tires have water (and antifreeze) in them? I'm considering doing the same install but am concerned about moving around the heavy tire.

Yes I did remove the rear tire with 250 pounds of beet juice in it. It would be a good idea to have some help to do so.And make sure you have some blocking to put under the tractor, don't rely on a jack.

i have a nh 1520, had the dealer install the remote, cost about 225 for the kit and about 50 for the install. works well, they had the option of a single or double remote for my tractor, i just had the single put on.
