Newbie here. First post. For those with a Kubota L3130 (and possibly other engines) the upper portion of a 1 gallon Cranberry juice container yields a snug fit into the diesel fill neck. Always had trouble with funnels moving at exactly the wrong time.

It's nice meeting you! That's a great idea. And the bottles are clear, making it easy to see so you don't overfill. I've got a bottle in the fridge that will find a new life.

I imagine ya'lls got some snow up there about now? It's been really warm down here for this time of year. In the 70's. It will mess the plants up since they want to come out of dormancy.

I have a 16'x20' shop inside my pole barn. I made the ceiling/upper level floor joist extra stout. I then bought one of those 300 gallon clear plastic fuel grade containers that sits up there. I then got the right fittings to put on a spin on filter and 15' of hose with a nozzle. I get it filled about 3 times a year by the local co-op and it works great. No electric, no pumps, just gravity. I have less than $100 in the setup and have used it for 3 years now.

Liquid under pressure is always a bad idea. I have long been a proponent of outdoor bathrooms.

It was getting old holding a diesel can to fill the tractor. On my old tractor, I could rest it on the cab window opening but not on the new one. I installed an eye bolt in the ceiling above the tractor. I take a diesel can and suspend it from the ceiling using an adjustable tie down strap. Works real well. Makes it easy to use my funnel with the fuel sock to remove water.

I bought two of these "Flo n Go's"; one for diesel and one for gas. They were a waste of money as you spend too much time monkeying around fitting them on your fuel containers.

Worse, they must be higher up vertically then the fuel intake of your tractor, truck or whatever so you still end up hefting the 5 gallon container up.

Good idea in concept but not in real world use. That TSC pump kit makes more sense

I don't get it either. Who is lazy? All of us? Have you ever tried hefting a 5 gallon container of fuel on top of a tractor and then balancing it in order to pour fuel into the fuel tank? It's often messy and certainly no fun.

My biggest problem isn't hoisting the 5gals of fuel up to the spout (though those little pumps look good) it's knowing when the stupid thing is full!

The filler cap is about chest/shoulder high and holding the can up there does not allow for seeing in the filler neck before the overflow event occurs. Anymore I've just been running the tractor till almost empty or 1/4 tank and then I know a 5 gal container will all fit without looking. Otherwise its a guessing game.

My 5 gallon containers have a bent spout so all I have to do is hold my thumb over the end and put the spout in the fuel tank and lay the container on the hood and let her self fill.
The fuel tank opening on my Kubota is big enough to see when it gets close to the top so I have not had a problem of over filling.

that's a good idea but won't work for me. My diesel containers have bendable spouts but I use a Mr.Funnel that I place inside a gigantic funnel to avoid splashback and spills

I picked up one of these at Lowe's or Wal-mart and it works great for the price. Pumps 5 gallons in less than 2 min's. Wonder Pump Self-Priming Shake Siphon Hose

I remove the spout completely from the 5 gallon container and just pour directly into a large funnel. It pours alot quicker so you don't have to hold it up as long.

I have to ask my self what my insurance person would say if told them I was storing 300 gals of fuel inside my shed? The idea is great, but I would have put the thing outside. The again with the price of fuel, you'd have to deal with how to secure it..

I suspect there are a lot of people storing 300 and more gallons of diesel in their basement to heat their house. We had 500 gallons in the house I grew up in near Chicago.

Now, if it was gasoline....I'd be concerned.
