My "new" favorite revolver is my Ruger Single-Six .22 LR/.22 mag. I bought it about 10 years ago and maybe shot 100 rounds through it, then packed it away and almost forgot about it. Recently, my daughter showed an interest in shooting, and I have started her off on that gun. She is a natural with it. That little revolver is now priceless in my mind.

Boy some real lightweights here, nah just kidding My kid decided that we needed a "Hand Cannon", so after a lot of research I bought a Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casul. While researching, a common comment came out about the Ruger, they are built strong. Another deciding facter was they carry six rounds, the other guys only have five. The 454's are a little rough to shoot, but it also fires long/cowboy colt 45's. With them it is like a plinker and a lot of fun.

5 rounds.. 6 rounds.. how many you need when shooting .454C If whatever you are shooting isn't stopped reliably with 5 shot.. then having the 6th shot isn't great insurance. You probably need to move to a rifle or a shotgun and slugs ;)

Hey Bake,

Ditto. Love my Super Red in 44mag. Tough, good balance, very crisp trigger.

S&W model 27 - 3.5" barrel... Very accurate for a short barrel, and the weight helps with hot loads.

Favorite carry revolver is S&W 642, light, concealable, no hammer to snag on your pocket... loaded with +P 38's

"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" LOL

Old Marine Corps training, he who gets the most rounds in the air has the advantange, more bullets=good. Of course I'm not refering to hunting.

Hi Baker,
No insult intended. Daddy always told me "If the first bullet goes into the right spot, ya don't need a second bullet". No such thing as a second place winner in a shootin'.

Yep.. a 22 will kill just about any animal on earth... if you can aim good and make an eye/brain connection ;)
