A border wall establishes a basic barrier that slows down all those pesky illegal vandals. While they are busy clicking on 20V batteries in the middle of nowhere on their sawzalls, it slows them down some so border patrol can turn them around.

No barrier at all won't slow them down. The Rio Grande also slows them down in some parts of the border.

The more obstacles put in their way, the more time it buys the good guys to come and turn them around.
Walls also serve as a mounting point for surveillance equipment and sensors.
None of us have to live in the area to have a basic understanding of how walls and border patrols work.

There is a lot of truth to your statements. Except a fence in the mountainous wilderness areas where patrols are limited to helicopters and horses. It may be hours or days before patrol agents pass through those areas. The sawsalls work really well in those areas.

I don't know this for a fact but the boarder wall material/ steel/ maybe a " Corten " steel. It a "Weathering Steel". You can look it's properties up on the internet.
We used this type of steel for some Taiwan locomotives produced back in the 70's due to the environment that the locomotives would be operating in.

Selling the wall for pennies on the dollar is theft.

The border states AND the border patrol were offered it FOR FREE!!!! They only took what was useful. Sheesh. Some of you seem to have a comprehension issue. THEY GAVE IT AWAY TO THE PEOPLE THAT IT EFFECTED THE MOST AND THEY DIDN'T WANT IT!!!

The rest was sold. The Texan's own agency said it was useless junk!

You and I both know that's not going to happen, nor would it help if she did. The root causes go further back, to the early '70's and the beginning of the "war on drugs". Prior to that, no one really thought the border needed "secured" that much. In many areas, it was wide open (in an actual, rather than hyperbolic sense) and folks from both sided traded back and forth freely.

Of course she is. She's pandering to her faithful constituents, just like the Texas AG and Trump are pandering to theirs.

America wants a wall. Don't believe it? Check the Nov 4th voting results.

Maybe, maybe not. Americans had a lot more issues at stake in the election than a border wall. Unfortunately, we don't have the option of voting for the "perfect" (in each individual's mind) candidate. We have to vote for the least bad option, and then stay active in trying to steer whoever gets in in the "right" direction.
