I worked for another few hours last night on the workshop, and I managed to hang one lousy board. It's the rest of the ridge beam extending out the front of the shop. I did a lot of measuring, marking, and cutting before I was ready to hang it. Then, my framing nailer decided to go on strike... it would only drive the nails about halfway. I don't know what the problem was, but after some oiling, cleaning, and adjusting I managed to finish the one board. One other complication in this whole mess was that I realized I had set the west side of my window framing 1 1/2" too far out (I put the 2X4 on the wrong side of the mark). So, I had to fix that too.

Hopefully I can make more progress tonight.

Get the IPL for you nail gun. It's only O-rings and maybe a hard plastic drive ring and there is nothing to rebuilding one. I paid a place over $40 to fix my Senco SN1 finish nailer. It recently quit again and I fixed it for $12 in parts.

Ouch!

Still, you can count your blessings that it was not something you had welded into place and had to use the angle grinder and cutting blade to correct. I will NOT talk about how I know!:smiley_aafz:

Thanks to all for the replies. I put up the last of the rafters on the south end of the shop. I still need to put in the horizontal pieces for the lookout, and then I go back to the north end. If I can keep up with the pace I have, I'll be ready to sheet the roof on Monday when my dad and brother are available to help me.

I did pretty good this morning, but then I got rained out after dinner. Here is a picture of this afternoon's progress. I didn't get much farther than what you see in the picture.

I guess that we'll have to do some more framing on Monday before we sheet the roof.
