Root Grapple

Going to buy either a LS 4041/47 or Kioti DK45/50SE. Need a grapple to clean up brush and trees. Been hearing a 48" grapple will work best. Will run off of remote levers supplied with tractor. Don't want to spend a ton on a grapple, but don't want a cheap-o either. Looking at Wildkat, NAI, and maybe the EA. Any suggestions on size and quality with these tractors? Thanks.

Try Hound Dog Brush / Debris Grapples on the Kioti using the Remote on it. If you get the DK, get both Remotes.

Just my :2cents:, but any of those tractors are good machines as are most all of the new tractors that are out there today. I think that you would be happy with any of these, but the best thing to do is to at least get in the seat and see which one is the most comfortable for you. If you plan on having the dealer service your tractor for you, then the dealer can become an issue and you may need to consider how good the dealer is because of the on going relationship that you will end up having.

I just purchased a 72" grapple from palletforks.com for my Kioti DK50SE. Paid $1425 delivered.

I like this one more than most of the others I looked at because the teeth at 1/2" instead of 3/8". Weighs about 700 lbs.

Don't forget, you'll also tie up a few $$$ in getting the hydraulic hoses to run from the rear remotes up to the crossover support on the FEL. I paid about $320 and got hoses with 90 degree tubing bends for the rear connections.

I also suspect, in order to do any meaningful lifting, I'll be adding a rear ballast box ( Northern Tool ) or Heavy Hitch.

The LS dealer is about 40 miles away and must go thru Austin. Good highway all the way. The Kioti dealer is about 18 miles away with all good highway and no cities to go thru.

Have operated both. Impressed with both. Will come down to price. LS has 16 gears vs Kioti with 12. That's the biggest difference. I'm hearing LS is going to use Shibaru engines in T4. That's a plus to me.

Will use a box blade for rear ballast. Thinking hard about the Wildkat. Noticed it is heavier than the new EA, so not overly concerned about lightweight Wildkat. Still looking at grapples.....that Titan 60" don't look bad at palletforks.com. Thanks.

Keep in mind that heavier is not better when it comes to compact tractor loader attachments. We went out of our way to make ours as light as possible and achieved this by using a high tensile strength steel, which kept the weight down without sacrificing durability. This resulted in one of the most usable grapples on the market and many happy Wicked Grapple owners!!!!!
