As others have said, there will be a manual lever on the injector pump that will kill the tractor for times just like this.

It may be a good Idea for you to find it and learn its function:thumbsup:
May want to make an actuator for it that you can get to quick. I hope I get to that on the 7520 before I ever need it.

The car with a mind of its own was "Christine".

If you wanted to name your tractor, there you go.

Your correct on that. Now I remember, that is exactly what I was thinking.
This saga goes on. I went to the dealer this morning and picked up another timer relay, as that is what I thought the problem was. Before I purchased it though, I had taken my meter with me, I compared the ohm readings on my relay to the new one from the dealer. I got the same readings, so I did not purchase it.

I found an old thread from 2008 and followed Volfandt's testing advice and my relay tests out perfectly. So I did send him another request to see if he had other ideas. My problem is I can start the tractor without engaging the seat safety switches. So obviously they have no affect on shutting the tractor down either. I have followed the wiring harnesses and cannot find where anyone has over ridden them. Usually you would just jump the switch itself to overide it. I have done that in the past on other equipment. (Shame on me) I am still trying to get to the bottom of this. everything else works fine. This has me puzzled.

Maybe someone else has some ideas as well. Sure would like to get this tractor running again before the snow begins to pile up. Thanks again.

re: seat safety switches, NONE of my tractors shuts off if I leave the seat (B21 TLB, B2710, M5040, M9540, KX-121 mini ex, RTV900). The Kubota zero turn mower does shut off but only if the blade is engaged. The M5040 squeals for a moment if the PTO is engaged.

The JD skid steer locks the wheels if I release the seat belt.

Perhaps the BX series does shut off, but personally I have not seen any Kubota equipment that does it.

If I remember correctly to start on my BX2230, you need PTO off, and range selector in neutral, on later tractors I think they changed to HST pedal being centered as I also do not like having to start in neurtral on a hill as only thing holding tractor is a weak park brake where in gear a runaway is very slow.

The seat switches are tied to the PTO kill circuit. If middle PTO is running then getting off seat will kill. If rear PTO is operating then getting off seat will kill the engine but the seat may also be flipped forward and the rear PTO may be operated for chipper, generator or other stationary uses. My G2160 had both a pedal and seat interlock to start and that was taken care of.

What I did;
While not a Kubota, the principal will still work.

Upon locating a lever on my injector pump that was the manual fuel shut off I attached a thin (1/16") length of aircraft cable that I fed into the cabin (dash) and then attached a knob to the end.
Pull and hold and the engine stops.

I opted for aircraft cable rather than a choke or throttle line as in my experience those choke cables generally rust up and bind with time and in an emergency you don't want to fight a rusted cable. My tractor uses a NC solenoid as the normal shutdown that is operated via the key switch but after reading this trend I sure feel better knowing that I have an alternate shut down.
My manual shut down lever was wired open at the factory as they relied on the key operated solenoid.

For that matter a length of good nylon twine attached to a knob would suffice to pull the shutdown lever (actually it is a valve).

when I purchased my Chinese made Mountaineer tractor the employee at the auction company drove it on my trailer and turned it off.
When I unloaded it at home it took me some time to figure out how to turn it off as all the writing are in Chinese. My mistake for not having him show me. :mur:

The first method I pulled a Lever out that went to the injector pump, it worked, but it made restarting take ten time longer.

I next found a lever that looked like a the old school chokes on trucks that worked to shut it off and did not make the restart take longer than normal.

Hmmm. Over in the Yanmar Forum there have been various threads re the un-connected second lever coming out of the governor. It's pretty clearly for shutdown, but apparently never used on these farm tractors. Maybe Yanmar considered it unnecesssary for models with a compression release lever on the dashboard.

I might install an aircraft cable like yours on my smaller Yanmar.

I am surprised. I looked in my manual and it says if turning the key to off doesn't stop the engine, contact my Kubota dealer. Not good. Of course I know of two easy options - put the cap he gave me over the air intake will will stop it fast but I must lift the hood, or turn the fuel shut-off which will let it run a bit. On my last machines we had to put an emergency stop button, in red, at ground level. Maybe that was an internal Caterpillar standard and not an ISO standard. My L3710 had an emergency engine stop, mechanical, reached from the seat.
