I soved most of my problems doing the same thing as all of you. I did some looking and found that If I buy a 2nd. ajustable lifting arm and installed it on the left side , an ajust for the higth, and have the nose of the brush hog 3 inches highand slow though the turnes the outer edges of the brush hog doesn't even come in contact with the ground. I found this out by dropping the atatchment and lowering the 3 pt. my lower links always tough the ground, so the ajustable lifting arms ajusted up off the ground I could keep from gouging the ground in the turns. just preset the nose hight, and go!!.
hope this helps

Just finished all 12 acres and around my house without a divot to be had. With the sharp blades its mowing very well.

Good stuff runwme!

I cured 95% of my scalping by making sure my brush hog is never held up by the top link. If the top link is too tight, it does all kinds of strange things when you turn. The brush hog should be a 3 point implement, supported by each 2 lift arms and 1 tailwheel. When the 3PH is tight, it's essentially a 2 point implement, and tends to tip o rlean over when turning corners.

I also removed the 2 giant steel straps, and replaced them with chain. That saves weight, works a little better, and is easier on tractor and brush hog when you accidentally back up against a slope.

This may sound like a dumb question and elementary but has the BH been leveled right to left?

I used to see wooden rollers like on the back of a push mower on some decks instead of wheels. Would this work? plowking

Good question. I have looked at that. I have never put a level on it but visually it rides evenly without a noticable tilt right or left. I'll see if I can put a level on it to confirm but our property is not exactly Kansas like so finding a level spot of ground to test it is a challenge. I can test that it is similar to the tractor operators station though.

Measure your non-adjustable side link, pin to pin. Then adjust your adjustable link to that length, also pin to pin.

The easiest way to fix right to left lift arm adjustments
Find an apprximately level spot.
Put the implement ALL the way down.
bring it up while watching it
if it's not level, one side will come up first
adjust it til they both come up at the same time

done.

or, if no level flat surface just raise it and compare the skirts to the axle.
