I am new to the TBN and a city slicker turned country boy. I have a new house on ten acres and have been looking for a compact tractor. I like the "big three' however not the price. I am quoted a T300 with FEL at 17,500 and this weekend looked at a Kubota L3130 and was quoted $18,500 with FEL, however the finacning is better with the Scorpion. Should the biggest difference be financing? Are they comparible tractors? Can the scorpion last like the big name tractors can. Someone please help me as I wan to make the right choice. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Welcome to TBN........I hear good things about the Scorpions but don't have one myself.

Check out Century, Branson and Mahindra. Those prices don't sound all that great. From what I've heard, scorpions are Korean Mahindras with Kubota engines in them. People who own Mahindras are very happy with theirs. I have a Branson, which is the same as Century, which I think is absolutely comparable to the big three in quality. When I factored in price, it was a no brainer. Prices can vary a lot by region, though, so shop around. The dealer is more important than the price, give or take a thousand or two.

Danrad, what is your location in the US. It will be easier for us TYM dealers to give you a quote if we know where you live.

Buck,

how long have you been selling TYM? I look at your site frequently and don't recall seeing Scorpions for sale.

Not that long, this year is my first year. I looked at everything on the market before I chose TYM and I mean everything!!! I took on TYM for a couple reasons. 5 year warranty, larger hp range, Kubota and John Deere power plants, Eaton transmissions, and they are distributed out of Portland so they are right next door. I can sell them for less than Branson and go right up against JD, Kubota and NH. They don’t really fit on my web site (different market, might put a link on my site though) I will have the TYM web site up VERY soon because their current web support sucks and does them no justice. I am not saying anything bad about the other brands (Branson, Kioti, ect) this was just the best deal for me and my situation.

I'm about 60 Miles North of you. Where did you find a Scorpion dealer? Greenville?

Hi,

When I first seen this line in person… I fell in love with it… This tractor line is a winner… both for the dealer and the consumer… You have the best of all worlds, your choice of brand name powerplants, Kubota or John Deere, with an attention to detail company TYM from Korea making the tractor…

The tractor business is extremely competitive… I sure hope many more dealers will take notice of this fine line… /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks! I knew they were down there, I just haven't had a chance to get there yet. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif When you start getting a little farther North, the number of different manufacturers being represented drops off rapidly.

/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifI have a new t-300HSt. I have put 35 hours on it now. Most of those hours are with a backhoe.

I am very glad I chose the TYM over green, orange and blue. I even looked at the Century at the same dealer. TYM w/HST hands down.

I got the Great Bend 2130 PosiLock loader and a GB 752 BH, 72" box scraper, bale spear, canopy and trailer for 25k.

If you decide you need a BH, I would recommend a sub-frame and not a 3ph attching kit. My sub-frame had to be fabricated at the dealer, but it is one solid attachment and very easy to remove. Two bolts, two pins, drive on and drive off.

Quality is outstanding so-far. No complaints and would do it again the same way except I would opt for the 852 BH.

Congratulations on you new tractor.
You mentioned ( TYM w/HST hands down ) over the Century. Would you mind sharing with us how you came to that conclusion other than the Hydro transmission. Was it a current Century model you were comparing it to.
Thanks
Chipperman
