Nutty and a hazard but quite brilliant as a solution for moving a 5th wheel camper with a SUV. I wonder if he bothered to hook up turn signals and brake lights. He should have moved some ballast to put weight on the hitch though. Wonder how he got the hitch attached as it is pretty clearly lifting the back of the SUV.
For the hitching part I think he has the factory jacks that are in front (or is it back) and levels the trailer, then hooks up, and llifts them

You're right. I guess you've done this a few times yourself!!! (Insert smiley here).

Sorry can't say that. They might ban me from this thread cause it's a big no no.

But my answer would lean to the no side

I wonder how that tow all counts? Does it need a seperate tag? Does it count as pulling doubles?

/ Share Pics of People Hauling or Towing Something Wrong #3,127
Not sure but I think those are no longer allowed here, at least for travel trailers.

I know some places dont allow doubles.. So I just wonder how that tag along is counted. Is it considered part of the other trailer, essentially converting it into a wagon? Or is it a trailer pulling a trailer?

I'm not sure how the tow alls are regulated. Growing up in Northern Canada it was not uncommon for B- train type setups for camping. Usually a truck towing a fith wheel, with a boat being towed behind the fith wheel. Good for distance hauls, and then you'd unhook and maneuver each separately once you arrived at the lake or river campsite.

Seems like emergency braking could get real exciting with a dolly.

I don't think that is allowed here in Michigan. Doubles are but not a bumper then a gooseneck. It has to be gooseneck or 5th wheel then bumper

I wonder if the 'tow all' is considered a part of the tow vehicle since it is rigidly attached. It does not pivot at all from the tow vehicle.

?? Is that a steering axle like the back of a readymix truck?

Ahh.. But it isn't rigid.. It has some degree of movement, as evidenced by the segment with the suv traversing the swale.

Looks like it is range limited, however.

Also sounds lil it might be a brake axle too.

Still wonder how dot classifies it, as part of tow vehicle or not.

Yes it does pivot similar to what a solid axle would on a truck, only attached in the middle. It does have electric over hydraulic brakes as well.

The Tow All is nice, but there is actually another company that makes one with a winch. You can use it like the Tow All but you can also pull your trailer out of tight spots with it. Videos are on their website:
The Automated Safety Hitch | Trailer Hitch | Gooseneck Horse Trailers | 5th Wheel RVs | Flatbed Goosenecks | Fifth Wheel

There is also a company that makes the same thing but with it's own motor and a wired remote. You can move trailers around or drive them right up to your hitch then hook them up and go. Unfortunately I can't find the link ...

Why not get a big enough truck ? Those rigs are a compromise at best .

Why drive a F350 dually 365 days a year if you only need to tow a big load ten times?

I wouldn't see these devices as cutting into commercial towing but they would certainly make sense for guys with F150s that need a bit more towing capacity to move a horse trailer or camper.
