That's doing it the right way, mounting the receiver where you roll the bucket forward to get the hitch ball down low under the trailer. I welded my simpler ball mount on the little Yanmar (photo above) with that in mind.

My other elderly Yanmar came with a ball bolted to the top lip of the bucket. Not very practical, you have to wind the trailer jack to the top before it's high enough to set on that ball. Even considering that this bucket isn't as tall as most loaders.

Don't Do This. It isn't practical.

used to move lots of trailer with a set up like that. didn't always work, but i would curl the bucket down the lift the trailer off the ground and roll the bucket back

Yeah. I added this hitch ball because I park the little 4x8 utility trailer in a tight stall where you have to walk alongside the trailer to get to the washer and dryer. Getting the trailer in parallel to the wall and an inch out from it is simpler and more precise when I'm looking forward - and easier on my back than twisting to back the trailer in then zig-zaging it by hand to get it over the last couple of inches.

Are the extra mounting points on your bucket for more angulation, or more power?

Dunno. It's the original loader for that Yanmar (YM186D) and that's the way it came.

Looking at it, it seems it is set up for fastest and maximum-angle bucket rotation, while using the other holes would give maximum curl strength - maybe for digging with a tooth bar?

Maybe a different truck but they repurpose the load and save water.

I was just thinking that if that darn wide body Ford had been another Toyota they might have fit.

Don't play chicken with a truck that's beat up bad. He doesn't care about a few scratches and ripples.

Never park next to one either. They need a wide berth to open their doors.

I expect the Ford was lumbering along and the Toyota thought he could cut around him fast and get to the tollbooth first - BMW style!

But he misjudged the DGAF Ford driver who didn't give way as expected.

If that's the case there are sure to be some witnesses lined up behind the Ford, eager to tell how it happened.

Maybe the ford just wanted to make sure the Toyota stopped at the double sign.

It would be interesting to know the true story,
I tend to agree with the thought the Toyota tried to get by the old ford :drink:
